Ephram flicked on the stereo system in his room, tuned to the 'radio' setting. After listening to a verse full of sad lyrics, he sighed, and turned down the volume.

"I'm sick of always hearing sad songs on the radio" He announced to himself.

They reminded him of one person, and one person only - Amy.

Amy Abbott. There would always be a part of him that longed for her - if only they could be together. He'd treat her the way she should be treated. She wouldn't have to go through any more pain, things would just be happy when they were together.

He couldn't forgive things she'd done in the past, and he couldn't forget what had happened between them. Adventually, he knew he would give in to her.

He sighed again, and cranked up the sound, noticing that the song had changed. A sappy beat enhanced by an acoustic guitair filled the room.

"Not again.." He said aloud, trailed off and finally turning the radio off for the last time that evening.

Another thought entered his crowded mind, "I'm sick of always hearing sappy love songs too"

He needed to get away from Everwood, from this small town full of people judging him. It was cursed. Cursed for a guy, a guy named Ephram Brown. Hopelessly in love with a girl that would never love him. He wished he could stop loving her, just some button, labelled "love", and make it all go away. But that wasn't the way things worked.

He needed to escape everything, not just Amy. The atmosphere, the sights, the sounds. But he never could. He felt like he was going to explode.

He couldn't forgive all the times she'd hurt him. He couldn't forget the way she'd disregarded him, like he was worthless, whenever Colin came into the picture. He couldn't give in to her, because she'd totally, utterly messed his life up. For better, for worse, you could look at it both ways.

One last though crossed his mind as he lay down on his bed, the darkness pouring through his windows and enveloping the room,

What went wrong?
