Boo Radley

Here in my home

In the shadows I lie

Here in my home

I watch my children walk by

As the years pass I watch them with care

As they play with each other

Unknown to them I stare

Once in a while

I leave a gift

Once in a while

I smile as I see their spirits lift

I watch from my window

As my children attempt

Some sort of tactic

To reach out to me

Such as a tree

Or a wheel even

Then comes one night

A cold October eve

I hear my children

It's as if they call out to me

I disregard my solitude

I rush into the night

I disregard my safety

To help my children in fright

I see my son

Lie in the night's veil

As my daughter fights

To no avail

The sight fills me with rage

As I exterminate the attacker

I was the lion that night

Freed from his cage

I bring my son home

My daughter soon follows

As I leave their house I hear their father

"Thank you for my children."

Silently I think to myself

"No Atticus....thank you for these children,"

"For they have shown me love."

So, did ya like it? Did ya hate it? Do ya wanna throw raw vegetables and various kitchen utensils at me? R&R pwease! ^_^
