Disclaimer: I do not own Deleen, Valen or Babylon 5. I do own these words and I would like to keep it that way. I love this poem/letter with all my heart. I know it is a bit hard to follow. Each line represents something from Delenn's life as we know it. Her fight against the Shadows. Her loss of faith when she discovers the truth of Valen and her ancestry. The despair when the reality of the Shadow War comes. The destruction of her crystal city. Her breaking the Grey Council. Her becoming Ranger Number One. The betrayal of her friend and her marriage to John. The birth of her son and the danger he was under. It's all here, you just have to look for it.
Summary: A letter from Deleen to Valen expressing her thoughts on her life. Think of it as a dairy entry lost in a database and found around the time of the destruction of earth we saw in that one freaky episode with humans appearing like Vorluns. (Pardon spelling).
From the Private Writings of En'tel'za Delenn, Bringer of Prophesy.

I want to tell you, old friend, but distance stays the tongue. Time holds the paper so the quill can only scratch. Rivers hold freedom out as truth - And I have forgotten how to swim.
I want to tell you of the place where no shadows fall, The darkness between the stars and the meaning of it all. Plagues of music float on wings of fire, Cleanse the depths of stars, send Angelic Devils far.
I want to tell you of the metal planks that vibrate with the passing stars, Streaming lights that end in red. I hear the screams as I dream, as I fly. I hear the cries of the worlds as they die.
I want to tell you of the delight in the night and the roughness of the flight. Chimes sound from little eyes, both show though. Pain in orbs unknowing. Skuld shows the path.
I want to tell you of things that I feel, As I reel, out of time, out of mind. Pleas unanswered fall upon depthless feet - To haunt the halls of majesty.
Crystals shattered. Rays of Black destroy the sovereign gray.
I want to tell you of dreams that plague the land and the trees that lead my hand. Forest gone to distant shores. Waves upon Sand, hands grasp the hymn of time. Robes bare all. The darkness that devours stars rides across embracing light.
I want to tell you but water fills my mouth, My cries drown out light in a blaze of timeless fright. Understanding finds the illness, truth corrupts freedom.Darkness makes light as both flee. Children left to find questions for the answers.
Old friend, I wish to tell you. You are gone and I journey to find - through silence, I learn? Numb with time, age and life, Between the candle and the darkness . I am found.
