A/N I've already written a poem from Frodo's POV, so I decided, what the heck, why not do one for Sam as well? Tell me what you think.
Disclaimer: I don't own LOTR. Ok? OK???????
----------------------------
Roads
(or: Samwise the Brave)
----------------------------
The land of Mordor, where shadows once lay
Now sees at last the light of day.
And the road that carried me there is gone
Fled at the sounding of the horn.
The Shadow is past, the people are free
Deep run the roots of the Silver Tree.
But now I turn to home and bed
And another path for me to tread.
'Round every corner of this way
I find another golden day.
Yet then I find there is an end
Behind a smaller, lesser bend.
That is the path that I shall roam
Leading back to hearth and home.
Back to love and back to light
Where singing drives away the night.
Though upon many roads I've set my feet
And felt the raw earth's deep heartbeat,
There is but one path I wish to roam;
The winding road that leads me home!
