Chapter 1- The Great Disappearance

"Hagrid, I don't know how to take care of a dragon! The little thing would probably fly away from me!" complained Harry. "Besides, I have a Quidditch match against Hufflepuff today."

"He don' ever cause any trouble, Harry. Well, there was the time when he . . ." Hagrid continued on for a few moments while Harry thought it over. How hard could it be? It's just a baby. Harry looked over to see Hagrid singing Norbert to sleep in a wooden rocking chair.

"Fine. I'll do it. Just as long as he doesn't take a bite out of my robe or something."

"I'll be on meh way then. I won't be gone long, Norbert, so don' worry. Oh, an' Fang will help yeh take care of him if he ever gets out o' hand." Fang sat up with drool hanging from the corner of his mouth. Hagrid put Norbert in Harry's arms. He then picked up his hat, grabbed his green coat covered in patches from what Harry hoped wasn't from Norbert's flames and walked out of the wide door whistling a tune.

"You aren't going to give me any trouble, are you?" said Harry staring into it's large brown eyes. The little dragon spit out a fireball upon hearing this and caught one of the curtains across the room on fire. Luckily, Norbert didn't have the best of aim and missed Harry's head. He put the "darlin'," as Hagrid called it, on the table, ran towards the curtains and stomped the flame out. It hadn't even been five minutes and Norbert was already causing trouble!

Fang heard the commotion and had what seemed to be a slight grin on his face. Maybe it was just Harry's imagination. He turned around expecting to see the little monster, but to his surprise, Norbert had vanished.

"Norbert? Norbert, where are you?"
