Landon Carter was driving home from work. He had just performed a successful operation, and couldn't wait until he got home. He was a bit distracted, so he didn't see the young woman crossing the street until she stopped and signaled for him to do the same. "Yo, what the heck are you doing?" he screamed as he got out of the car, "I could've killed you!" The woman just stood there and said nothing. Landon used that silence to look over who he was screaming at. At first, something seemed familiar about her, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Then, to his horror, he realized who he was staring at: Jamie. Yes, it was her, the hair, the expression, everything about this woman was seen by him on his late wife. He sighed, and tried to start over. "Hey, sorry for yelling at you like that. My name is-" "I know who you are," the woman replied. "You are Landon Carter. You are a successful heart surgeon who appears to have everything you ever wanted, but still is missing something. Or perhaps someone?" This was too weird for Landon. How did this woman know about Jamie, the fact that she was practically a mirror image of her set aside? How did she know? "Mr. Carter?" the woman asked, "Is something the matter?" Realization hit Landon that he had been absently staring for about 5 minutes. "Huh, what?" he said, still absently, "Oh, no, everything's fine. But how did you know all that?" "Know all what?" she asked, puzzled. "About." he sighed, "about me, and Jamie?" "I know a lot about you and Jamie, Landon," she simply said. "Well, I'd like to know a little about you, if you don't mind. Tell me your name." "You can call me Faith." "Okay, now tell me: how do you know what you know?" "Do you have time?" "Yes. Tell me." "You won't believe me." "Try me. Now tell me!" "Okay. I'm an angel." The next thing Faith heard was a thud. Landon had fainted.
