Remembering Cerasi

So many years had past. He had been on so many missions since.
Yet he could still remember her voice. He could still see her cocky grin. He could still remember her.
As soon as he stepped down on the planet, all of the memories came slamming into him. The good and the bad, and he could feel the tears running down his cheeks.
It had been so long since he had been on this planet. So long since he had seen the peace at which he had fought so hard to achieve. The peace that came because of her.
As he walked down the street he realized that it looked nothing like he
remembered. There was no fights, no war. He liked it better this way.
Except she wasn't here.
He slowly walked into a building that he did recognize. Tears streamed down his face silently. He walked through the rows of markers searching for the right one.
He found it, and activated it.
She shimmered in holograph form in front of him, and started to speak.
"I made my decision after the war ended. I will no longer carry a weapon. I will no more fight in the name of peace. But today I might die for it. Do me a favor, friends. Don't build any monuments for me. Don't destroy any, either. History isn't in our favor, but that doesn't mean we should annihilate it. Don't let our dream of peace die. Work for it. Don't kill it. We fought one war for peace. We always said that one war had to be enough." She then gave her cocky grin that he remembered so well. "Don't
mourn too long for me. After all, I wanted peace." She shrugged. "Look at it this way. Now I have it forever."
Her image disappeared.
His tears had dried as he stood up.
"Goodbye, Cerasi," Obi-wan whispered into the empty hall.
He walked away slowly, and went back to his ship.
He looked out the window of his ship as he lifted of the planet knowing that he would never return again.
