But before Harry could go to his school, he had to ask permission from his parents.

Albuquerque Academy, as you said is out of the question, but I've been doing some research and I'm here to present you with an idea that I think would be very benificial for my education. La Cueva is a nice school, but I don't think I'm being pushed to my full potential. After much reading, I believe I have found the high school that will take me to my full potential and help me better prepare for college. Lake Forest Academy. It's a private school in Lake Forest, Illinois that offers room and board. I know your first question most likely is, 'how much will it cost?' Before I tell you you must promise to hear me out. Tuition for boarding students is $25,500 plus the cost of books. But the curriculum there is much more challenging than at La Cueva and it offers courses that I can't take here. Lake Forest Academy also offers more clubs that appeal to my interests and it also offers more sports for me try. Plus Lake Forest Academy would provide me with many things La Cueva can't.
Lake Forest Academy is a school that promises to push it's students to do their best and make them strive to succeed in their challenging curriculum. Some of the courses LFA offers that I'm interested in but aren't offered at La Cueva are Contemporary Poetry, Mythology, writing short fiction, and a full year of World History compared to La Cueva's half a year. Lake Forest Academy offers many different science classes so I can experience all the different fields there are. I also believe I will benefit more from Lake Forest Academy's foreign language program than La Cueva's because all La Cueva seems to be teaching me is review from last year. Plus, with all the classes offered at Lake Forest Academy, I could develop interests in other scholastic areas other than science. Not only are some of these courses not offered at La Cueva, but there are also sports and clubs that aren't offered here.
Lake Forest Academy offers a wide variety of sports and clubs for all interests. As of now, I don't really play sports, but Lake Forest Academy offers a wider variety than La Cueva. For girls, they have sports like tennis, field hockey, volleyball, ice hockey, softball, and soccer just to name a few. Lake Forest Academy makes it a requirement for it's students to participate in atheltics so they can experience team involvement and competition which I believe are vital to living and working in the real world. At Lake Forest Academy, every year there are about thirty different clubs formed by students with an active faculty sponsor. There's a club for nearly every interest. Some of the clubs during the 2002-2003 school year, just to give examples, there were clubs for French, art, Tae Kwon Do, Chess, and even Laser Tag. By attending Lake Forest Academy, I could develop an interest in sports and also meet other people who share my interests.
Lake Forest Academy has many things that La Cueva or any other high school around here don't have. The Lake Forest Academy has a special advisery program where each student has an advisor(a member of the faculty). The advisor keeps a close eye on the student's process in school, communicates with the student's parents, helps choose classes, and offers support. Also, every weekend Lake Forest Academy plans trips, often to Chicago. These trips often include attending various concerts, museums, restaraunts, shows, and sports events. There are also seasonal weekend trips that include skiing, camping, sailing on Lake Michigan, and biking. In the spring, Lake Forest Academy students and faculty all take a day off and have a service day where every one participates in community service around the Chicago area.
Now that you've heard all my reasons for why I desire to go to Lake Forest Academy, I'd like to present you with some facts about the school. The average class size at Lake Forest Academy is 12 students per class. The student to teacher ratio is 7:1, helping each student receive to the attention they need compared to the aproximate 23:1 at La Cueva. For any unassigned periods that freshman and sophomores have a supervised study hall. For the boarding students, they live in one of the on campus dormitories, two students to a room. Sunday through Thursday nights at eight, there are manditory study halls for students to complete homework or study.
With all of this said, I belive that attending Lake Forest Academy will help benefit my education emensly.

Harry's parents, wondering both what the hell their son was talking about and how they could possibly be alive, said yes.
