Hi, this is just a little something I did when I was bored but I think it's cute, please R/R.
Most Precious of Treasures
Melfina breathed in the dewy air as she stepped into the dusk. Her hair swayed gently in the breeze. It had been a month since the Galactic Lay Line but the events still echoed in her mind. She looked up at the scarlet stained clouds and began to sing. The tune she sang was soft and melodious, gentle and dwindling like a blossom on the wind.
I don't know
What words I can say,
The wind has a way
To talk to me.
Flowers sleep,
A silent lullaby,
I pray for reply,
I'm ready.
Quiet day calms me,
Oh serenity,
Someone
Please tell me,
Ohmm, what is it they say?
Maybe I will know one day.
I don't know
What words I can say,
The wind has a way
To talk to me.
Flowers sleep,
A silent lullaby,
I pray for reply,
I'm ready.
She paused and spun round as she heard the tap of shoes on the metal balcony. Gene stood in the hatchway of the Outlaw Star.
'Don't worry,' he said, 'it's only me. I heard singing, it sounded so beautiful - I wanted to find out where it was coming from.' Melfina blushed slightly,
'Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you.'
'No, no!' said Gene stepping forward to join her as she watched the sunset, 'It was lovely, please sing it again.' Melfina blushed an even deeper shade of crimson.
'No, I . . .I don't think, um--' Gene put his hands on her shoulders,
'Please . . .for me.' Melfina looked up at him, he stared fixedly back at her, 'Please.' She closed her eyes, sipping in the sweet evening air and began to sing again. Her voice danced on the clouds, perfect and beautiful. Gene listened in awe as the lingering tune filled his senses. As the song drew to a close, Gene placed his hand on Melfina's cheek, 'I've never heard anything so beautiful.' Melfina clutched his hand in her own as he drew her to him, kissing her softly. When she reluctantly pulled herself from Gene's lips, Melfina looked at him and asked,
'Would you ever leave me?' Gene ran his fingers through her hair,
'Why would I leave you?' Melfina turned and leant herself on Gene's chest so that she could see the sunset,
'After all, now that the maiden of the Lay Line is no longer a part of me, I'm worthless, just . . .' a single tear rolled down her cheek, 'scrap metal.' Gene immediately pulled her to face him and stared deep into her chocolate eyes,
'You are not scrap metal, and don't let anyone tell you that you are. I fell in love with Melfina, not the maiden of the Lay Line.' Melfina cast her eyes to the ground doubtfully. gene pulled her hand to his chest, 'What do you feel?' he asked. Mel stared at her hand on his body,
'Your heart.' she answered.
'And what do you feel here?' he laid her hand on her own chest.
A pause
'My heart.' she could feel the rhythmic beating of her bio-android system. A smile spread across her lips as she wiped the tear from her cheek. Gene stared lovingly into her deep brown eyes,
'I went to the Lay Line in search of treasure,' he said, brushing the loose hair from Melfina's face, 'and came back with a treasure more precious than I had ever imagined.' he bent forward and pressed his lips to hers. And Melfina finally realised who she was, as the crimson sun set on the Outlaw Star.
