Dream Come True

Thoughts racing through his head. Heart pounding like a hammer. Staring wide eyed silently around him. He realized that indeed he had come to school in only his heart printed boxers with little teddy bears. And that no.It wasn't just a dream, but a nightmare come true. As he stared at his fellow peers standing at the front door of the old school building no one moved. Frozen in place, blood running cold and pupils dilated. Muscles tensed all though his body as cold sweat comes down from the sides of his head. Staying utterly quiet and still, Gabe wonders why he hadn't burned the boxers the moment his mother bought them. Now as he stared at his classmates, his blood pressure rises while his heart beats harder, he feels the utmost regret he's ever felt in his small, none existent, life. The memory of that day unto which the dreaded boxers were bought runs though his mind. He hears his mother's voice ring though his head as if it was happening right then and there. "hunny. Look at these.awe they're so CUTE!" His mother says holding up the boxers He pauses looking at them and turns red from such embarrassment. "mom I'm NOT going to wear those." "Yes you are sweetie. Now come on.It's getting late and I'm going to cook roast tonight." Yes.that is what happened that day. Unfortunately he had no choice in the matter at the purchase. But that was last month. Now 36 days later he had found himself there at school. In his embarrassing boxers. Coming out of the memory he stares at those around him in complete silence. Then. The silence that seemed to last a life time was suddenly broken by a loud roar. It echoed across all the halls of the school. Filling the classrooms, lockers, bathrooms, and offices. The roar, to his shear horror, made by those around him. Never before had he heard a noise such as this. It rang in his ears and seemed to vibrate under his skin. His heart beats harder as he realized they were laughing at him. The jocks, the preps, the goths, and even the nerds and geeks were all there. Pointing, laughing, Staring at him. Comments rose from all sides of the hall. All of a sudden gossip sprang around him like a punch to the face. Fast and swift. Even though he knew it would come he was surprised. Suddenly his body seemed to spring to life. He could move his arms and legs again when just moments before they had been glued into place. Stumbling back slightly in terror he turns and runs out of the school and outside to be accompanied by more laughter and more snide remarks. His eyes widen slightly and he freezes where he was. Not moving, Not even taking the simplest breath. Then slowly as everyone around him point and laugh, he falls to the ground. Now he was stone cold, as cold as death.
