This again was supposed to be for English class.  An "I Am" poem is what it is called.  Think of something and take the place of it and then describe all the senses and feelings.  I was thinking of Battousai at first, but, half the stuff that I would have mentioned, I know my teacher wouldn't like, so I changed it around to our one and only Kenshin, looking at his life now and part of his past.  Enjoy.

Disclaimer:  I do not own Hitokiri Battousai.  I do not own Kenshin.  I do not own any Rurouni Kenshin character.  :: cries ::  Now that I have said this, you may continue.

I Am the One Who Once Was Hitokiri Battousai

I am honest and hardworking.

I wonder if peace will ever reign in this world.

I hear the songs the birds sing in the spring morning.

I see families shopping in the village square.

I want to forget my dark past.

I am the one who was once Hitokiri Battousai.

I pretend at times that I am not who I used to be.

I feel the need to protect those that are close to me.

I touch the faces of those that I loved and are now dead, due to the revolution that I helped to create.

I worry that I may lose those that I now care for.

I cry at the thought of having to kill.

I am the one who once was Hitokiri Battousai.

I understand that there are people who would rather have their destructive past lives than the one they have now.

I say that a swords purpose is to kill.

I believe that it should be used as a protector of people.

I dream that those who live by the weapon will one day use it the way I believe a sword should be used.

I try to make this world a better place.

I hope that hatred will eventually die.

I am the one who once was Hitokiri Battousai.
