A/N: This is just a short rather pointless story that I wrote while trying to think up with what I am going to do with my KH: Altered Destiny fic…I still haven't decided, so if you are reading that…well…it may be awhile before I update it…Thanks!
A tall woman with long chocolate hair laid propped up in a hospital bed holding a small baby in her arms, looking at it with love shining in her eyes. Standing beside her was a man whose spiky salt and pepper hair swayed in the slight warm breeze. He rested an arm on her shoulder as an affectionate gesture and looked down into the bright sapphire eyes of their son who seemed to be smiling at them and with a firm grasp on a lock of his mother's hair.
Sitting in a chair nearby was a lady with shoulder length blonde hair who was smiling at her own son and her silver haired husband at her side. Both of the young boys were silently content looking at their parents with an awe of wonder at these new beings, or for the blonde's son, recognition.
"Oh Lena, I'm so glad we can go through this together!" said the longtime friend of the brunette woman. "Your son and mine, they will end up the best of friends, just like you and me when we were little!"
The coffee haired woman, Lena, nodded her agreement. "Yes and your Riku will be able to teach my Sora all sorts of things oh I can't wait to get into the routine of motherhood, looking after the kids while having cappuccinos in the café. Mieko this is going to be great!"
.:"* 6 years later *":.
A 7 year old Riku came rushing at 6 year old Sora, wooden sword in hand, ready to execute his move. On reflex, the brunette rolled out of the way just in the knick of time managing to strike a blow at Riku's unprotected backs of his knees. Riku stumbled forward a bit but whirled on his younger friend whacking him none to lightly between the shoulder blades.
"Ha, ha!" Riku shouted triumphantly, "You're mine, Sora!"
"Not yet I'm not!"
Right after the words left the younger's mouth, a sword was placed at his throat and he gasped. When had Riku rounded on him like that?
"What was that?" Sora's cobalt eyes went wide in shock of the turn of events.
"Sir Riku of Destiny Isle, I surrender." The blue eyed boy said summoning his most matured voice which was quite hysterical to the two parents nearby.
The two kids collapsed in the warm sand of the island with Sora sprawled across his friend's stomach only to be pushed off with a complaint of "Get off me, Sora, it's too hot!"
"Riku…" Sora mused, "You'll always be my friend, right?"
"Of course, Sora, why wouldn't I be?" Riku said, rolling onto his side to gaze at his friend with new interest. What had made him question their friendship?
"I don't know, I just never want to be not your friend…" The younger said, "I think…well I want to always be your friend." He stated with an air of finality.
"Together forever."
Riku nodded. Yes, together forever…inseparable like...the milk and ice cream in a milkshake. Riku licked his lips, a milkshake sounded pretty good right now. "Sora lets go see if we can get milkshakes!"
The
brunette's ears perked up with interest, "yeah!"
The pair scrambled up out of
the sand and ran over to where their mothers sat talking about things they didn't
understand yet.
"Mom, mom!" they chorused. "Mom can we go get a milkshake?"
The blonde and brunette women exchanged glances. "Alright, let's go." The quartet moved towards the little town that was bustling with excitement in hopes of obtaining milkshakes to end a perfect day.
A/N: Eh, what do you think? Pretty short, but that's ok, right? Well review please, thanks people!
