Note: Harry Potter was created by J. K. Rowling and is a Warner Bros. film series.

Harry Potter had recently turned twenty. If that wasn't big enough, Harry had started dating Hermione Granger. Hermione used to be dating Harry's best friend, Ron Weasley. However, Ron didn't have the maturity or patience to keep a serious relationship. Hermione had been having much more luck with Harry. She and Harry always seemed to get along. At first, Ron was jealous, but he eventually had to admit that Harry was a better boyfriend to Hermione than he ever was.

One day, Harry and Ron were going for a walk. Harry was dressed in a fancy tuxedo, because he was planning on going on a date with Hermione. Ron had a date scheduled with Luna Lovegood, but he wasn't dressed fancy. Instead, he was wearing old clothes that hadn't been cleaned in months. Harry raised an eyebrow, while asking, "Are you sure this is what you want to wear to your date?"

Ron casually replied, "I don't see what's wrong with it."

Harry said, "Your clothes are covered in crumbs."

Ron explained, "Luna's totally okay with stuff like that. I love Hermione, but she cares too much about how people look. On Luna and I's first date, I wore my pajamas. Luna didn't complain or get mad. She's great."

Harry said, "Well, I'm happy for you."

Ron nudged Harry and asked, "How are things going with Hermione?"

Harry said, "Everything's been great. She's the best."

A few minutes later, Harry and Ron started walking past a jewelry store. Harry stopped walking and started staring at the store. He put his hand on his chin, while saying, "Maybe I should get something for Hermione."

Ron had a confused look on his face, while asking, "Why would you want to get Hermione something?"

Harry said, "She's been a great girlfriend to me, so I feel like getting her a gift."

Ron replied, "Gifts are nice, but I avoid getting jewelry for people."

Harry asked, "Why?"

Ron answered, "It costs too much money."

Harry said, "Well, I think that Hermione's worth spending money on."

Ron replied, "I didn't feel the same way. I kept getting her silly items from the clearance section. Hermione doesn't care for that kind of stuff, but Luna loves it."

Harry asked, "Is it okay if I go in there and look around?"

Ron sighed and replied, "I suppose that would be okay."

Harry and Ron went into the jewelry store and started walking around. Harry started looking at the jewelry, while Ron started looking at the vending machine. Harry gently tapped Ron's shoulder and said, "Look at what I just saw."

Ron asked, "What is it?"

Harry pointed to the store's clearance sign and said, "According to this sign, all of the jewelry is on sale."

The owner of the jewelry store approached Harry and Ron. He was a gray-haired gentleman that had a white beard and was dressed in a white suit. He smiled at Harry and Ron and said, "It's nice to meet you. I'm Robert Dee Nero."

Ron looked excited, while asking, "Aren't you the biggest star in the movie business?"

Robert Dee Nero said, "For some reason, people think my name sounds like some actor. I don't know what that's about." He paused and said, "Anyways, this store's about to go out of business."

Harry asked, "Why?"

Robert sighed and said, "Young people don't like buying this sort of stuff. Instead of getting expensive gifts, they just send texts and memes to their loved ones."

Ron said, "You sound like an old person."

Robert replied, "And you sound like someone that I don't want to have for a customer."

Harry's attention was focused on a beautiful ring that was made out of a diamond. Since the store was going out of business, the ring only cost ten dollars. Harry looked amazed, while saying, "I can't believe that this ring is that cheap."

Robert replied, "I also can't believe it. Trying to sell jewelry is becoming harder than ever before."

Ron nudged Harry and said, "You should buy the ring for Hermione."

Harry replied, "Ron, Hermione and I have only been dating for a short amount of time. I'm not ready to propose to her."

Ron said, "That's true, but you can buy the ring and save it for the right occasion."

Harry thought about it and replied, "That's a great idea, because I could save a lot of money." He looked back at Robert and said, "I'll buy the ring."

Robert replied, "Excellent choice."

Ron looked across the store and saw two awards that were bright and shiny. He looked at Robert, while asking, "Are those the awards that you won for your acting?"

Robert said, "Those are my participation trophies that I got back in my school days. For some reason, people keep asking me about that. I'm not even an actor."

Ron raised an eyebrow, while asking, "Are you sure?"

Robert answered, "I'm completely sure."

Ron started rubbing his chin, while asking, "Have you ever been a cab driver?"

Robert replied, "I used to be, but that didn't last for a long time. I was also a minister."

Ron responded, "You fascinate me."

A short time later, Harry bought the ring. He placed the ring in his jacket pocket and went to a fancy restaurant. He walked inside and was quickly approached by a waiter. Harry said, "I'm Harry Potter."

The waiter folded his arms, while asking, "Do you have a reservation?"

Harry said, "I do. I have a reservation for two, because I'm supposed to meet my girlfriend at this place."

The waiter sighed and replied, "I was looking forward to kicking you out, but since you have a reservation, I'm out of luck. Come inside."

Harry said, "Um, thank you."

Harry walked to his table and saw that Hermione was already there. Hermione was dressed in a purple dress that looked very fancy and expensive. Harry started blushing, while saying, "You look amazing."

Hermione replied, "You look quite dashing."

Harry sat down and said, "I appreciate the compliment, but I don't look that great."

The waiter replied, "That's for sure."

Harry looked at the waiter, while asking, "Does this place have a restroom?"

The waiter replied, "What a dumb thing to ask."

Harry said, "Well, I wasn't completely sure."

The waiter replied, "I'm not sure how someone like you was able to get a reservation."

Hermione asked, "Can we have a nicer waiter?"

The waiter said, "I suppose, but you'll have to tip higher."

Hermione replied, "I'm okay with that."

The waiter sighed and said, "I'll find a waiter that's in a better mood." He looked back at Harry and said, "The restroom is in the back of the restaurant. Do you know how to get to the back? Frankly, I'm not sure you do."

Harry replied, "I think I can find my way."

The waiter looked at Hermione, while saying, "I hope that you can find a better boyfriend."

Hermione replied, "You can go."

The waiter responded, "Good."

Harry took his jacket off and put it on his chair. He looked at Hermione, while saying, "I need to go freshen up. I'll be back in a few minutes."

Hermione replied, "Okay."

Hermione got out a book and started reading it, while waiting for Harry to come back. As she was reading, she noticed that Harry's jacket was starting to fall off of the chair. A small box fell out of the jacket and landed on the floor. Hermione crouched down and picked up the box. She said, "It seems like Harry almost lost something important."

The box's lid fell off. Hermione looked down and saw the ring that Harry had purchased. Hermione gasped and said, "Harry bought me an engagement ring! He's going to ask me to marry him." Hermione started looking a little nervous, while asking, "Is this too soon? We haven't been dating that long." She thought about it and said, "Our dates have been some of the best times of my life. I love Harry. You know what? I should marry him. I feel bad about finding the ring before he got a chance to propose. I better put the ring back." Hermione put the ring in the box and put the box back into the pocket of the jacket.

A few minutes later, Harry walked back to the table and said, "Hi, Hermione."

Hermione kissed Harry and replied, "It's so good to see you, Harry."

Harry said, "You seem awfully happy to see me. I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long."

Hermione replied, "Not at all. I saw the most wonderful thing."

Harry said, "Really? What did you see?"

Hermione paused and pointed at her book. She nervously chuckled and said, "This book is one of the most wonderful things that I've ever read. It's so exciting that I can't get enough of it."

Harry replied, "Well, I'm happy to hear that."

During the dinner, Hermione avoided talking about the ring. It wasn't easy for her, because she was feeling overjoyed and excited. Harry noticed that Hermione seemed happier than usual, but he didn't think too much about it. He assumed that Hermione was just happy about her new book.

After dinner was okay, a check was placed on the table. Harry said, "I'll pay."

Hermione picked up the check and said, "You should let me pay. It's the least I can do after what you did for me."

Harry started looking confused, while asking, "What are you talking about?"

Hermione could no longer control her excitement, so she decided it was time to discuss the engagement. She blushed and said, "My answer is yes."

Harry said, "I still don't get what you're talking about. What question are you answering?"

Hermione said, "I'm answering the question of whether or not I'll marry you. I know that you didn't get a chance to ask me. I'm sorry if I spoiled the moment, but I couldn't wait any longer."

Harry raised his eyebrows, while asking, "What's going on?"

Hermione had a giant smile on her face, while saying, "I'm going to marry you. I'm going to be Hermione Potter."

Harry said, "Um, I never proposed to you."

Hermione replied, "You were going to."

Harry said, "Well, there might come a time when I'm ready to think about marriage. However, I don't think either of us are ready."

Hermione smirked and replied, "Then how come you have a ring in your pocket?"

Harry nervously asked, "Did you find my ring?"

Hermione said, "I sure did. It fell out of your jacket. Now that I know that you were going to propose, you don't have to pretend that you aren't ready for marriage."

Harry was confused about what to do. He knew that he loved Hermione. As much as he cared about Ginny, things with her didn't work out. Harry knew that Hermione was the love of his life. However, he had no intentions of proposing to Hermione at such an early stage of his life. He wanted to tell Hermione the truth, but he also wanted to make sure that he didn't hurt Hermione's feelings.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, Harry looked at Hermione and said, "I know this is going to sound disappointing, but I wasn't planning on proposing to you."

Hermione raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you getting cold feet?"

Harry said, "I bought the ring, because it came from a jewelry store that was going out of business. I was going to save the ring for the right occasion."

Hermione asked, "Are you telling me the truth?"

Harry said, "I'm afraid I am."

Hermione started looking sad, while asking, "Does this mean that you don't want to marry me?"

Harry said, "At some point, I do. However, I wasn't planning on proposing for a long time."

Hermione replied, "I see."

Harry took a closer look at Hermione and noticed how disappointed she was. He asked, "Were you really ready to marry me?"

Hermione said, "I know it sounds like I got caught up in the moment. The truth is that I spent a few minutes thinking about it. I realized that I didn't need to wait years to settle down. I love you so much that if you had proposed to me, I would have been ready to walk down the aisle."

Harry sighed and said, "It sounds like I messed things up."

Hermione said, "There's no need to blame yourself for what happened."

Harry replied, "I should have worked hider to hide the ring."

Hermione said, "You don't have to feel guilty. It's okay if you don't want to marry me."

Harry blurted out, "I do!"

Hermione smiled and said, "Really?"

Harry blushed and said, "At some point, I'll want to marry you."

Hermione replied, "When that time comes, I know what my answer will be."

Harry said, "I don't know how I could propose to you. You've already seen the ring, so I can't surprise you."

Hermione replied, "You don't need to surprise me. In fact, you don't even need to propose to me. I've already answered the engagement question. When you're ready to marry me, don't even ask me. You can just slip the ring on my finger."

Harry said, "So, you like the ring?"

Hermione replied, "I love it! It's gorgeous. I can't wait to wear it. In fact, I feel tempted to snatch your box and place your ring on my finger."

Harry chuckled and said, "Wow."

Hermione asked, "What's so funny?"

Harry said, "It feels like we're already engaged."

Hermione replied, "We kind of are. After all, I already agreed to marry you."

Harry held hands with Hermione, while saying, "You are the best girlfriend that I could have ever asked for. I look forward to the day where you become the best wife." He smiled and kissed Hermione.

A few weeks later, Harry walked to Hermione's house and knocked on the door. Hermione answered the door and kissed. Harry hadn't told Hermione that he'd be coming over, but Hermione was overjoyed to see him. Harry said, "Hi, Hermione. I hope that you don't mind the sudden visit."

Hermione replied, "Not at all. What's going on?"

Harry chuckled and said, "I know this will probably sound dorky, but I really want to hold your hand. It's been a long time since I've held your hand, so I was feeling a bit sad."

Hermione stuck out her hand and said, "Feel free to hold my hand for as long as you like."

Harry replied, "I will."

As Harry started holding Hermione's hand, Hermione felt something strange. She looked down and saw that Harry had placed the ring on Hermione's finger. Hermione cried tears of joy and started kissing Harry.

A few months later, a wedding ceremony was held outside of Hogwarts. A majority of Harry's former teachers and classmates were at the wedding. Ron was the best man. For once, he agreed to wear a nice tuxedo.

Harry, who was also wearing a tuxedo, looked at Ron and said, "Thank you for wearing the tuxedo."

Ron replied, "It's my pleasure." He paused and said, "Actually, I'm not sure it's actually a pleasure, but for you and Hermione's it's worth it."

Luna, who was Hermione's bridesmaid, walked Hermione down the aisle. Hermione was wearing a white dress and a yellow crown. Luna said, "You look beautiful."

Hermione replied, "Thank you."

Luna smiled at Ron and said, "You look good in a tuxedo."

Ron replied, "I thought you liked how I looked when I was wearing crummy clothes."

Luna said, "You look good in any type of clothing."

Ron replied, "That's true."

Hermione looked around and asked, "Where's the minister?"

Robert Dee Nero walked by and said, "I'm the minister." He shook hands with Hermione, while saying, "It's nice to meet you. I'm Robert Dee Niro."

Hermione looked excited, while saying, "You're one of my favorite actors."

Ron explained, "He's not the actor. He's just a guy who has a similar name."

A few minutes later, the wedding ceremony started. Robert Dee Nero looked at the crowd, while saying, "We are gathered here to unite two of the world's most magical wizards in marriage. If anybody objects, let them speak now."

Draco Malfoy stood up and said, "I have something to say."

Robert Dee Nero gave Draco an intimating glance, while asking, "Are you interrupting the wedding? This is the only wedding here, so you must be interrupting this one. What do you have to say?"

Draco said, "You look like the guy from some classic movies."

Robert asked, "Did you interrupt this very important wedding to say that?"

Draco answered, "Yes."

Robert pointed at Draco, while saying, "I'll be keeping my eye on you."

Draco nervously replied, "I'll behave."

Robert looked at Harry, while pointing at Hermione and asking, "Do you take this woman to be your wife?"

Harry answered, "I do."

Robert looked at Hermione, while pointing at Harry and asking, "Do you take this man to be your husband?"

Hermione answered, "I do."

Robert said, "Then I pronounce you husband and wife. You may go ahead and kiss." Harry and Hermione exchanged a long, passionate kiss.

Harry looked at Hermione, while saying, "I'm so glad that we're already married."

Hermione replied, "So am I." Hermione looked down at her ring and smiled. Becoming Hermione Potter was the most magical honor of her life.
