Chapter One: The Evening News
*
Francie and Will stared at the blank TV screen before them. They had spent at least an hour just surfing the channels, not finding anything good.
Finally, they let the remote settle on the ABC News.
"This is ABC 7, Eyewitness News at 6. Tonight our top story is about a rogue agency called SD-6. Stay tuned." The newswoman droned, letting it fall to a commercial break.
Will stared at the screen, unbelieving. They had been at the Motel 6 in San Francisco ever since Sydney had called him earlier the previous day. Something was definitely going on.
Francie looked over at Will, "Isn't that the place you made up, SD-6?" She gaped.
Will only nodded, swallowing hard as the commercials ended.
"Just this afternoon, the rogue agency called SD-6, which has been posing as the CIA for 20 years now, was destroyed. With the help of one of their best agents, Sydney Bristow, the CIA was able to take down SD-6, ending two decades of coercion. It was a great victory for all of America, and we owe most of it to the two double agents who had been infiltrating SD-6 for many years now, Jack Bristow, and his daughter, Sydney Bristow."
The camera panned over their CIA ID photos.
Francie's eyes were getting wider and wider by the second, "Oh my God. Will, did you know about this?"
Will stumbled over his words, stunned himself, "Well, yes, sort of. I knew she was working to take them down but I had no idea it had...it.." He shook his head in disbelief.
They continued to listen as the newsman gave a more in-depth explanation. Just as the story was coming to a close, Will's cell phone started to ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey Will, it's me."
"Syd! Oh my gosh, we just saw the news, are you alright, I'm so happy for you.." Will rushed the words out, Francie leaning in to hear.
"Yes, I'm fine. We are all in debrief but I should be done soon, you want to meet back at my place tomorrow morning, say 10?"
"Of course, we'll be there, see you soon!" Will answered, Francie's grin broadening.
"Bye Syd." Francie added.
"Bye guys!"

"Everything alright with Francie and Will?" Vaughn asked, approaching Sydney just as the replaced the phone in its cradle.
"Yep, I'm meeting them tomorrow at 10, at my place." She paused, "And I want you to come with me." She smiled.
"But of course!" Vaughn smiled in return. "But until then, I say I cook you dinner."
Sydney nodded her head enthusiastically, "I'd like that."
"Great, let's go to my place then, I'll drive you." Vaughn took Sydney's hand, not minding if they were seen.

"So," Vaughn started as he sat down across from Sydney, "Shall we eat?"
Both began eating the spaghetti Vaughn had prepared, glancing up between bites.
After both had finished dinner, Vaughn stood up to get their dessert, leaving Sydney at the table.
Moments later, Vaughn re-entered the dining room to find Sydney gone, but in her chair, lay petals from the roses that had been in a vase upon the table.
Smiling to himself, Vaughn set the dessert back on the counter, moving to cross his living room. Every few feet, he saw a red petal, leading him to his bedroom. And there, upon his bed, lay the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, Sydney Bristow.
