The ruins of Midgar 789 AD.
The buildings, reactors, streets, everything was laid in waste. Once
a great and proud city, the center of all life on the planet. Now nothing more
than a graveyard. 788 years ago this wondrous city along with nearly the entire
human race on the Middle continent was abruptly ended. In a blinding flash of
light that lasted for 10 days the kingdom of Shinra was swept away. For over 400
years, after the scavengers finally left the warlock wars and the end of the
time of spirits nothing is heard from the great outer walls anymore. But from
the inside…past the gates, the blocks and sectors, past the tower blast doors,
up 60 floors something still yet whistles into the night on a static screen, to
remind any who would listen, of the most horrible and beautiful sin man has ever
committed…
"So what was your rank in the program?" a male voice calmly asks a tired looking
blonde man on screen.
With a shining pride he begins "First Class Sol…" then in a shockingly quick
moment the blonde was shrinking back almost away into himself and said "6th
under-level Ground soldier of the 81st platoon of the Shinra army"
Timidly he adds "I…I uh never made into the program…"
"Never?! Yet you wield the power even more so than one of those touched by Mako,
how did this come to be?"
"I…I was a… an experiment to replace The General, a…after I killed him…the first
time."
"project C" the blonde mumbles to himself.
Barley catching the words the interviewer asks "ProjectC? Is that your
nickname?"
With sudden flare the blonde man whips his eyes up to bore a hole into the other
man "NO never…"
Sweating now the man says "soft spot huh? Well for the record could you please
state your name?"
"Cloud…Cloud S. Strife" he replies the fire disappearing from his face.
"so uhhhh before his death at your hands how did you view the General?"
with a new look Cloud leans back with the wispy traces of a smile and says "Once
upon a dream…
