Lost Love

A/N: Hi ppls. This is my first FF9 fic. Let's see if I can't get a good start on this one. Well, on with the show. ~_^*
"Boredom, boredom, boredom." Autumn sang to herself as she sat on the highest branch on a tree. The sixteen-year-old had been up there all day, and wasn't planning on coming down any time soon. She just stayed in that spot doing nothing but swinging her legs in the air while watching the scenery of the sun setting on the horizon. Her long, brown monkey tail swished back and forth anxious for something to happen, but it didn't know what.
"Autumn Tribal, get down here NOW!" Called an obviously angry female voice from below. It was Jade, Autumn's best and only friend.
"Why?" Was the teen's playful response.
"Because it's dinner time and it's your turn to cook!"
"What if I don't feel like cooking?"
"Then it sucks for you, cause you're makin' it whether you want to or not! Now get down here!"
"Make me!"
"Fine!" With that, Jade pulled out her machete and cut down the tree in one quick slice.
The middle-aged oak came tumbling to ground bringing Autumn with it.
As the tree lay on its side, Autumn climbed out of the pile of leaves with ease.
"Jade, you murdered the tree" She said sarcastically. "Why'd you do it? It didn't do anything to you."
"It didn't, but you were in it, and you wouldn't come down." Was Jade's reply.
"Still, it doesn't give you the right to kill it! You murderer!"
"Yes it does"
"No it doesn't"
"Shut up!" With that, Jade sent a punch flying through the air and landed it on Autumn's jaw.
"That wasn't very nice Jade. First you kill the poor, innocent tree, and then you abuse your friend." Autumn too threw a punch and landed it in the exact same place on Jade. "There." She said. "Now we're even."
"Why you little."
Next thing you knew, both of the girls were on the ground hitting and punching each other while laughing at the same time.
"Uh-oh. We better get home." Autumn said as she noticed the sun getting lower by the moment.
"Yeah, you're right" Jade said in agreement. "Let's go."

As the two girls stepped into their house, they both headed straight for the kitchen. Autumn got out the ingredients necessary to make supper while Jade sat at the table reading her favorite book.
"That was one of the best fist fights I've ever had" Autumn declared dreamily as she stirred a pot of ox-tail soup. "We should do that more often."
"Was that why you were being a smart-ass back there?" Jade interrogated. "To get me peeved enough to hit you?"
Autumn shrugged. "I dunno. I guess so."
"You guess so?!"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Nothing. It's just that I don't know about you sometimes."
"Whatever. By the way."
"What?"
"Dinner's ready."
