Disclaimer: Me owns nothin'. (Even though I really wish I owned Sirius'
bike)
A/N: Just a little something I wrote at school - I think it was in Danish Class - and found in my notebook yesterday. However, I quite like it.
THAT NIGHT
Hagrid had just found Harry and was now carrying him out of the ruins that had been James and Lily's house. Then, suddenly, a roar broke the silence of the night and a flying motorcycle appeared from the clouds. It landed in front of Hagrid, and a young, black-haired man stepped off it.
"Oh no..." he said quietly and looked up at Hagrid.
"James and Lily?" Tears were in his eyes. "And little Harry...." he looked at the baby in Hagrid's arms. "Give him to me, Hagrid, I'm his godfather, I'll take good care of him". He reached for Harry.
"I'm sorry, but I have me orders from Dumbledore. Harry's goin' to his aunt and uncle".
"But... all right. If Dumbledore says so, then it's the best". He bent his head.
"Dun' worry, Sirius, it'll be all right", said Hagrid comforting.
"Yes... I just don't understand why it had to be them". Sirius' voice broke, and Hagrid held Harry in one arm and laid the other around Sirius.
"Hagrid... take my bike... bring Harry to his aunt and uncle..."
"No, Sirius, ya love that bike..."
"I won't need it anymore".
Finally, Hagrid agreed to take the bike, and a few seconds later, it disappeared in the clouds.
Sirius looked until then. Then he bent his head and stepped into the ruins of his best friend's house.
"Why, James? Why you? Why couldn't it have been me? Oh, James... Lily..." Sirius sank down on his knees and buried his face in his hands.
"Why you? James..." he sobbed.
He sat there for a long time without lifting his head. His sobs became quieter as the minutes ticked by.
And then suddenly, they stopped. Slowly he lifted his head. His black hair, wet from tears, hang in front of his eyes. And his eyes... the oceans of midnight blue had been filled with lots of different emotions over the years, but never, never before had they showed so much anger as they did now. It was like a flame burning in each of them. And as he stared into the night with these eyes, one word exchanged from his lips. A name, the name of the person who had caused all of this.
"Peter".
Sirius got up and stepped out of the ruins. In this night, he would find the man who had been guilty for his best friend's death. In this night, he would kill him!
