SUMMARY: I'm sorry, Literati fans, but this one's a Trory! Also a little bit
of L/L. It's senior year, and Tristan is back! Rory and Jess never got
together after she and Dean broke up, but they're best friends, and
decided they're better off that way. Nothing past Dean breaking up with
her has happened. Jess and Shane broke up.
Rory Gilmore walked down the crowded hallway at Chilton, searching for
Paris. They had a project due the next day, and Paris had asked her to
meet before first period. She heard Paris's voice before she saw her, and
she sounded angry. When Rory finally spotted her, she was standing at
her locker, shoving books in angrily.
"Paris?"
Paris turned to face her, her expression filled with anger and… some other
emotion that Rory couldn't place.
"He's coming back."
"What?"
Rory looked at Paris, confused.
"Tristan!"
"What about Tristan?"
Paris threw her hands up in the air, frustrated.
"He's coming back! Here! To Chilton! Tomorrow!"
Rory's heart skipped a beat, and she looked down the hallway. Tristan
was back? Tristan, the guy who had made her life practically unlivable for
the first year and a half at Chilton?
Rory tried to ignore the feeling in her stomach, but she couldn't stop a
small smile from coming to her face. Tristan had always made life
interesting…
OPENING CREDITS
"Honey, I'm home!"
Lorelai Gilmore opened the front door of her house, yelling for her
daughter.
"Mommy!"
Rory ran into the living room and gave her mother a big hug, not letting
go for a while.
"Baby?"
Lorelai pushed Rory's hair out of the way, trying to look into her eyes.
"What happened?"
Rory pulled back, her eyes sparkling.
"Remember Carolyn?"
Lorelai scoffed, throwing her hands up into the air.
"Of course I remember Carolyn!"
Rory beamed.
"She's moving back! She's moving back to Stars' Hollow!"
"Great, baby!"
Carolyn, Rory, and Lane had been very close friends in elementary school,
but when Carolyn's dad died, she had moved in with her mother, who
lived in Indiana.
Now, Carolyn had decided to move in with her grandparents, who lived
just down the street from the Gilmores, and attend Stars' Hollow High.
Rory and Carolyn had lost touch over the last few months.
"She called me tonight and said she's moving in with her grandparents! I
can't wait to talk to Lane, I wonder if Carolyn called her!"
Rory picked up the phone, and started to dial the Kims' phone number.
Just then the back door opened and Lane ran in, jumping up and down.
Rory hung up the phone and gave her friend a hug, jumping with her.
Lorelai smiled. The phone rang, startling the three of them. Lorelai
answered it, trying to hear over the shrieking of Rory and Lane.
"Hello?"
"Is Lorelai there?"
Lorelai walked into the living room with the cordless phone.
"Hey, Luke, what's up?"
She could tell by the tone of his voice that he was surprised she
recognized his voice.
"Uh… I was wondering… if you…"
There was a moment of silence, and Lorelai rolled her eyes.
"Spit it out, Luke!"
"I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner… with me… tonight."
Lorelai looked at the phone, surprised.
"Well, I dunno Luke, is this like, a date?"
Luke stuttered.
"Well I-I mean… I just… yes, as a date."
Lorelai smiled. She loved playing with Luke's emotions.
"I'd love to."
"Alright then. I'll call you later and we'll figure out the when and where?"
"Sure."
They hung up the phone, smiles on both ends of the line.
