I closed my eyes, lying still in the water. It felt truly wonderful on my burned skin. And, it helped clear my mind, as well. It helped me to forget the screams of the villagers. Their pitiful cries didn't bother me, of course—far from it. But I could only put up with the shrieking for so long before it gave me a throbbing headache that even Yumi couldn't fully get rid of soon enough to please me.
Yes, the hotsprings were, quite honestly, magnificent. A soothing place where I could relax, and for a while I would be able to ignore my wounds, and calm my troubled mind.
"Shishio-san! Shishio-san!"
Dammit.
