Always Someone

Disclaimer:  Although no direct names are mentioned here, I'd better point out that I do not own Lord Of The Rings.  I actually own disappointingly little, so please don't sue me coz you won't get much (sob)!

This was written before The Darkness, which is based on this poem.  Thanks to some lovely reviews (I'll love you all forever!) I've decided to post this original.  This was written with Frodo and Sam in mind, but also applied strongly to my life at the time.

I feel like I'm so alone,

Surrounded by ghosts of people I've known.

This burden is heavy, weighing me down,

Please don't let me fall or drown.

I need to finish what my company started,

But long ago my company parted.

Now there's you, my one piece of comfort to see me through.

You're my hope, the light at the end of my tunnel,

You stayed by my side while lesser men fell.

And I praise whatever fate bought you my way,

Gods or coincidence none can say,

And I'm grateful you've stuck with me all the way,

Wherever you go, whatever you do,

There's always someone here thinking of you.

I was afraid, so timid and small,

You gave me encouragement made me feel tall.

When the darkness tried to overcome me,

When I weakened and strayed from what should be,

You were always there though I don't know why.

When I was sad you held me, let me cry.

But you picked me up, brushed me down, got me to turn myself around.

Now I know why.

And I praise whatever fate bought you my way,

Gods or coincidence none can say,

And I'm grateful you've stuck with me all the way,

Wherever you go, whatever you do,

There's always someone here thinking of you.

I know why you were my clean air,

When there was none,

In a tragic existence,

My only fun.

I know why you saved me time after time,

Rescued me from my decline.

You'd say there's always someone loving you

Now I feel safe to say I love you too.

And I praise whatever fate bought you my way,

Gods or coincidence none can say,

And I'm grateful you've stuck with me all the way,

Wherever you go, whatever you do,

There's always someone here thinking of you.
