The funeral was boring.

Suffice to say, he was glad to be well again and back at school, where things were boring, but they weren't funeral levels of boring. Also, even if the funeral was boring, he could never feel comfortable when Hashirama's friends and family were around.

Like Uncle Tobirama.

Or Uncle Madara.

Yeah, it was hard for him to feel comfortable around the living version of this world's Madara Uchiha, who stayed friends with Hashirama. With no Senju vs Uchiha bloodlust going on, and no Shinobi wars and Shinobi world, the two were just regular rivals that did not have to fight to the death over the ninja way of life. All things considered, he could NOT feel comfortable around an old man Madara just as much as he could an undead Madara, or a revived Madara.

"Freaks me the hell out."

This world's Madara was TOO supportive of him.

"What freaks you out?" Rias asked as she noticed Naruto shivered and spoke up about nothing while laying across the club couch. She raised an eyebrow when she noticed his bandaged arm, but there was a charm around it so that people who knew he lost his arm would forget he lost it. Since she was supernatural, she still kept her memories, but she could feel the charm trying to chain her thought process.

"Met 2 guys at a funeral the other day that I was not looking forward to meeting... one wants to make me their apprentice, and the other one wants to groom me into the ultimate fighter." Naruto sighed and just opened a magazine to read it.

Rias smiled.

"That sounds like a great chance."

"Nope."

"Huh?" Rias was surprised at the complete lack of interest on Naruto's face. He sat up and changed positions on the couch to get more comfortable.

Naruto seemed bored.

"Not interested... I will gain strength when I feel like it, and at a pace I feel like... and then hopefully I can die without anyone knowing I'm strong." Naruto knew the secret of this world, after being forced to study.

Strength attracted trouble.

The stronger you were, the more the people of this world would be attracted to you, both sexually and a desire to fight. The more you portrayed your strength, and showed off, the more people of the opposite gender would try to fuck you, and the more the people of the same gender would try to fucking kill you... or fuck you. If he tried too hard to grow stronger, it would be impossible for him to avoid trouble.

Growing stronger meant attracting stronger people.

That put his loved ones in danger.

Weak minded warriors would be sneaky and attack his loved ones to try and get him to fight them, or to force him to surrender. If you were strong enough, entire groups would form to try and kill you and anyone involved with you. His old man had faced the same issue, becoming so strong that he could have ascended into godhood, but he knew full well that that would just put evertone he cared about at risk, so he decided to stay a human and hid himself away from the world as much as possible.

"Feels like a waste... if you have potential, why waste it... you could be a real ladies man." Rias summoned her own genetic power. "... you could always become so strong nobody would ever mess with you." Rias stated with a sly smile.

The Power of Destruction.

Naruto shrugged.

"That is dumb."

"Huh?"

"It is impossible to become so strong that nobody would imagine fighting you... there will ALWAYS, always, always, and ALWAYS, be fools you will try." Naruto knew for a fact that was basic humanoid nature. No matter how strong you become, even if you became the strongest, people would devise plans to try and kill you. The more you portrayed strength to intimidate people, the more likely that more people would feel the need to take you down. "Take the strongest person you can think of... and I can bet you that right now there are 30 people plotting their death, or plotting a way to force them to fight." Naruto stated, and he was so sure of himself that Rias couldn't help but be interested.

She leaned forward.

Akeno entered the room at that moment.

"Fight what... Naruto, there is an elderly man waiting for you at the front gate... he says if you don't spar with him... he is going to drop heaven down on you." Akeno stated with a raised eyebrow. She had just passed the message along, but she saw Naruto get visibly pale, and exceedingly annoyed at the same time.

He hopped to his feet and started to walk off.

-Later-

"I hate you."

Naruto hate this man.

Madara Uchiha was a man that was about the same age as Hashirama had been, only he was visibly older than the man. He had white hair and more visible wrinkles for sure, but he wore a dangerous smirk over his face at all times that showed both confidence and arrogance.

They were both standing in what used to be a lake.

The lake was gone, having been evaporated in their spar, with Naruto sweating from the heat that had been required to evaporate the lake. The spar was almost over, and he could see that Madara was waiting for Naruto to respond.

"What new technique have you developed boy... with your latent potential and unique mind, I bet you could develop thousands of powerful techniques."

"Stop threatening global extinction if I don't spar with you!" Naruto flipped Madara off then and there. Madara was a man that was fueled by battle, and if he did not get the battle he wanted, then he didn't see the point of living... and if he didn't see the point of living, then he would just wipe out the entire planet.

Asshole.

Drop Heaven was Madara's funny way of saying that if Naruto did not spar with him, then he would wipe out the human race by creating a massive meteor and dropping it on the planet, wiping out all life, including himself if he had to.

"Have you considered my offer... become my pupil... allow me to train you into the ultimate weapon, the greatest fighter... and then I will search for my youth, after which we can have the ultimate, final battle." Madara spoke of his offer again.

Shitty old man.

'If you were the shinobi Madara, I would not even hesitate to use a Truth Seeker on you right here and now... but I can't do that in good nature here.' Naruto thought as he cracked his back, and he flexed his new arm. His wounds from the spar had already fully healed, and he glared at Madara. "Why don't you just find somebody else?"

Madara frowned.

"No... you are an Uzumaki, a cousin to the Senju... you inherited Hashirama's will, and you have great potential. You were built different than the rest of the weaklings... you are the same as me." Madara looked at the blond haired boy with a moment of disdain for his choice. "Why do you refuse to become the strongest."

"Because people like YOU will be hounding me for the rest of my life for a fight."

"Then kill them."

"Then their families, friends, loved ones, will hate me and come at me, not caring if they die... and I don't want to become a mass murderer!" Naruto hated how simple Madara made that solution. Kill everyone who stands in your way was not a solution he would ever consider, though he was happy to kill when it was required. He wanted to save murder as an option for only those who could not be redeemed, or those who were heartless.

"Then kill them too... send a message that you are not to be messed with."

"That is peace through fear... they won't fight me, they will try to assassinate me... poison me when I sleep, destroy my family." Naruto started to walk away with that.

The spar was over.

"Consider my offer again."

"I'm not like you... I don't have some stupid rivalry... and I'm not the old man. I have no rivals, and honestly... I would prefer to keep it that way." Naruto stated as he stopped, and he thought of the rivals he had that pushed him to become stronger in his memories.

He had no rivals in this world.

Nobody was pushing him or competing with him, and he would prefer to keep it that way.

"I expect you to develop a new technique by the time I spar with you next."

"Fine." Naruto knew he didn't have much choice in that one.

It was either spar with Madara, or the exctinction of all life, which meant he didn't have an option in the matter. The only reason Madara was willing to accept his refusal to train under him was purely because Madara was stubborn enough to believe that eventually, with the right stimulus, he would agree to train.

It was just a matter of waiting for him to die, and then he would be free.
