A Widows Song on a Foggy Night
Whispers in the wind,
your voice called to me,
Sent my body aloft,
to break through fog freely
I called out your name,
You called it out too
I followed your voice
Wherever it led me to

I felt the world end under me
And realized I was falling
Off the edge of a cliff
Yet your voice was still calling
I screamed, and you replied
But it was not you at all
My own echo was what I heard
What had led me to my fall
I cried, you cried too,
such a deep crevice I had found
as I had not yet splattered
all over the ground

and as I was falling
and my last moments came,
I called out, 'I love you!'
and heard you say the same.
