The concept of Harry Potter and a Sorting Hat, as well as the history told in the poem, does
NOT belong to me. Unfortunately. Have a nice day! :D

*Author's Note*
Hi, y'all! This is a sorting hat song that I wrote while trying to come up with a new chapter
for my other fanfiction, actually. I'd appreciate reviews a lot!

Many and many long years ago
When time had just begun
Four strong wizards gathered here
Uniting into one
They set forth with wands in hand
With a vision of a place
Where magic kind from all the world
Could past differences erase
They worked carefully and tirelessly
Through many a day and night
Creating this castle you see here
To mold young minds quite bright
For the daring, brave, and strong of heart
Gryffindor prized his choice
But in those whose minds were sharpest yet
Ravenclaw rejoiced
For those who had a hunger
An endless, burning greed
For power, attained by any means,
Slytherin did need
'Twas those fair souls that did remain
Who worked harder than the rest
Hufflepuff carefully chose
Thinking them the best
And now the sands of time have passed
The founders, long since dead
So who to choose the best for each,
To look in each young head?
They each gave me a little bit
Of knowledge and of stealth
With which to discover in each child
A bit of hidden wealth
And now if you'll oblige me
By donning me with eager face
I'll see your talents, every one
And put you in your place!
