Willow softly moaned in her sleep, Oz's eyes fluttering open as if she was calling for him. Willow's back was lightly pressed against his chest, and he smiled, no matter how many times this scene played in his mind, his memory served no justice against her beauty. He gently held her closer, enjoying the closeness of the moment, and she stirred.
"Oz?" Willow turned to look at him, almost unbelievingly.
"Yeah..." He gently touched her cheek as she leaned into his touch.
"Good, " she smiled. "So I wasn't dreaming."
He smiled back, the air of a laugh passing his lips.
"No." his voice was barely a whisper, he leaned forwards leaving a light kiss on her forehead, lingering for a moment.
She moved into his arms, cuddling up to his chest, closing her eyes. She hadn't felt like this in the longest time, and it felt good, she felt warm, loved, no longer alone. He gently kissed the top of her head, holding her as close as he could, wanting to say the three words that lingered on his lips but knew he couldn't say.
Willow's face suddenly went almost sad as she opened her eyes and looked at him.
"You know you can't stay..."
He closed his eyes momentarily, a wash of unhappiness and realization passing through him.
"I know..."
She paused for a moment.
"It's just that...I'm with someone now...and as happy as I am to be with you again-"
He quickly placed a finger lightly on her lips.
"Can we just skip the long speeches? The sad good-byes and all that other stuff?" Willow couldn't sworn she could see unshed tears in his eyes.
Oz gently cupped the side of her face with his hand.
"I just want to remember you like this, the way we are now..." his voice was a whisper, getting softer every word.
Willow nodded, unable to stop the tears that trickled down her cheeks. Oz quickly pulled her into a kiss, one that never seemed to end, and grew more intense every second. The kiss would have to last for a long while, so it had to be good, and it was.
Willow awoke with the sun, the early morning bird's song filling her ears. She stared at the empty part of her bed for a while, Oz's kiss still fresh on her lips, his touch still on her skin. She slowly shifted her weight so that she was right next to the pillow Oz's head had been resting on before, and pulled it towards her, inhaling his scent.
Oz had been right, that was the perfect way to remember him, loving and happy, not sad and regretful. A smile almost passed her lips realizing something...he would be back...he always came back, now all she had to do...was wait.
