Remembrance
It was a chilly Sunday morning. Piper quietly got up before anyone else in the Manor and got changed. She crept outside to her car, and drove away without anyone knowing.
She arrived at her destination ten minutes later, and slowly got out of the car. She wandered slowly past dull, grey slabs of stone, until she reached a certain one. It wasn't dull though; it had a light shining down on it, form the heavens above. Piper knelt down, and her eyes trailed across the writing on the gravestone:
Prudence Halliwell
1971-2000
A beloved sister and daughter
She was a protector of the innocent and saviour of good
A tear made its way down Piper's cheek, leaving a glimmering wet path. "Oh Prue, I miss you so much," Piper said. She placed three red roses, tied together with a piece of white ribbon, before the headstone.
A strange wind suddenly blew past, and Piper looked around her. The trees were still, and silent.
"P-Prue?" she whispered.
"Piper," said a voice that was very familiar to her. Piper slowly turned around. A young woman, around her late twenties stood behind Piper. She wore a long white gown, and was bathed in a soft glow. Her gleaming black hair shone in the light, and on her face was a huge smile.
"Oh my god," Piper breathed, her eyes wide as she took in the person in front of her. She felt weak, and her knees shook slightly, but she remained standing.
"It's me Piper. It's your big sister, Prue." Piper drew in a shaky breath, and slowly extended her hand towards the figure. Prue reached out and touched Piper's hand. Piper gasped as she felt smooth skin on her hand.
"But, you're, you're dead. How.?"
"The elders let me come to visit you. They knew today would be very hard for you, because today is...was my birthday."
Piper stepped forward, and fell into her sister's arms. The two stood there hugging for several seconds, and pulled apart. "So, how's my little sister?" Prue asked.
"I'm fine. Actually, I'm pregnant," replied Piper. Prue grinned, and gently rested her hand on Piper's belly.
"What are you going to name her?" Prue asked. "Her?" Piper repeated. "What do you mean, her?" "You're having a girl. Don't ask me how I know, I just do. So what's her name going to be?" Piper only needed to think for a second before replying.
"Prue."
Prue smiled. "I feel honoured. Take care of her, will you?"
"I promise," replied Piper.
Prue gave Piper another long hug. "I love you."
"You're not going now, are you?" Piper asked. "You've only been here for such a short time! You can't go. I need you. I love you."
"Piper, I have to go. I can't stay here any longer, or it will be harder for you. I know that you haven't fully accepted that I'm gone, and the longer I stay the harder it'll be. Goodbye Piper."
"Goodbye Prue. I love you," Piper replied softly. Prue smiled, and in the blink of an eye, she was gone. Piper turned, and as she began to leave she noticed Leo leaning against a tree a short distance away. She walked over to him and rested her head against his chest. Leo wrapped his arms around her, offering her all the support she needed. They stayed like that for a few minutes, and then Piper began to speak.
"I know that I'm going to miss Prue," she said. "But seeing her has helped me let her go."
Leo remained silent but twined his fingers around hers. He then led her to the car, and they left the cemetery together.
