Prologue

Hermione sat in Defense Against the Dark Arts, once again they had a new teacher. Professor Magel, a tall and slender woman with deep blue eyes and a ice cold smile. Her long black hair tied behind her in a bun, and her voice as cruel as Snape's. She was taking notes and Harry and Ron sat beside her. Soon the class was over and it was time for Dinner. They put their books away and made their way down to the Great Hall. They saw a rugged-looking figure sitting next to Prof. Dumbledore.

"Who is that?" Harry whispered to Hermione and Ron.

"I don't know." Hermione whispered back.

Ron just shrugged and began to eat. Hermione and Harry started eating too.

"May I have your attention please?" *Professor Dumbledore's voice rang through out the hall and everyone grew silent.* "This here, is my dear friend, Aragorn. Aragorn is to be treated with respect and will linger through out Hogwarts for a few days...." Professor Dumbledore droned on, but Hermione caught Professor McGonagall smiling at Aragorn, and not a regular smile, she knew that smile, Professor McGonagall was trying to flirt with Aragorn! Hermione found this rather funny and burst out laughing, Dumbledore stopped talking and everyone looked at Hermione. Her face turned beat red and she looked down.

"Miss Granger, may I ask what is so funny?" Dumbledore's voice is not one she wanted to hear right about now, but hey there it was.

"I'm sorry sir."

"Alright then, As I was saying....." Yet again, he droned on.

"What's so funny?" Whispered Ron.

"Nothing, I'll tell you two later." She said, trying to keep from having another fit of giggles.

Harry and Ron exchanged confused glances and went back to listening to Dumbledore until he finally stopped and they could eat, as they were eating Harry brought it up again.

"What was so funny Hermione? You were the only one laughing!"

"I know, and I shouldn't have been. It was just extremely funny!"

"Well, what was IT?" Ron said curiously.

"Well.." *Hermione's voice fell into a whisper so that only Harry and Ron could hear.* "I was listening to Professor Dumbledore when Professor McGonagall caught my eye. She was smiling at Aragorn, Dumbledore's friend, and it wasn't 'just a smile' it was the smile."

Once again, Harry and Ron exchanged confused looks and Harry just had to ask.

"What is 'the smile'?"

"Well you know! Like when a girl tries to start flirting with a guy, and she starts it with that flirtatious smile."

"Oh right...and this was funny how?"

"Well, you should have seen her! You would have never thought to see Professor McGongall act like that! It looked very....funny!"

"Mmhmm...So Harry, how is quidditch practice going?" Ron tried changing the subject, cause it wasn't the least bit funny or interesting.

"It's going good, I think we'll beat Ravenclaw tomorrow."

"I'm sure you will."

Hermione looked annoyed at the two, but kept eating and eyeing Professor McGonagall and Aragorn.
