High school. I'd gone in expecting everything to be the same. Sure, I knew some things would change, but I figured, for the most part, everything would be just like junior high. Me, Miranda, and Gordo would be best friends, Kate would reign over the ninth grade grade, Ethan would remain heartthrob and object of my affection, Tudgeman would be a loser, and you know. I thought everything would be the same, just in a bigger place with more people.
Maybe I really knew in my heart that things would change. Those people all shaped my life, made me who I am today. If they changed, that meant I would too. I was so afraid of changing that I pretended with myself that I didn't think anything would change.
I guess the real challenge I was about to face when I came into high school wasn't if I'd fit in or get a boyfriend or not make the seniors hate me—it was if I could handle all the changes, and adapt to the rapidly changing weather high school blew in my direction.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Lizzie McGuire or any of the characters! If I did, the "Bye, Bye Hillridge High" episode would have been done way differently—but let's not get into that. Anyway, don't sue, because all I have right now is seriously, like a few pennies and some leftover chocolate from Valentine's Day. And I really wanted to finish off the chocolate.
(A/N: My first Lizzie McGuire fic! Yay! I'm pretty sure nobody will recognize my stuff, because I'm a regular in the Everwood fandom, but I read a lot of stuff here. Anyway, enough about me. Alright, this takes place where "Bye, Bye Hillridge High" left off, because I was so disappointed in the way they ended that, leaving everything up in air. This is loosely based on the song "Landslide", re-recorded by the Dixie Chicks. The whole thing is in Lizzie's POV, and I think the song is a really great basis for how she's going to deal in high school. I won't give you any pairings, because I don't want to give it away right away, and I assure you, there will be some hugely unexpected plot twists. Ooh, and about the song, I'll be taking clips from it and putting them in chapter headings, so I have to say that I don't own that song either. Fleetwood Mac or somebody like that does. Well, R/R! The first chapter will be up later.)
