Kisses could be such simple things.

Sometimes it was just a gesture of friendship. Sometimes it meant nothing. Sometimes it was just pity.

Gordo had no idea what to classify that kiss as.

Could he even *classify* it?

It was just a quick peck on the cheek.

But she planned it so it was captured in their class picture.

Forever.

She could have waited. She could have not even done it at all.

He just couldn't stop thinking about it.

It could have so many meanings, but it could have no meaning at all.

Of course, he realized, he'd never find out if he didn't *ask* her.

But he couldn't do that.

After all, it *could* have been pity.

And Gordo wasn't quite ready to deal with that.
