Hermione stood there. Tears were streaming down her pale face. The brunet's hair blew gently in the wind as she looked around her. She could see everything from up here. She looked at the ground once and her thoughts wavered for a moment until she nodded slightly.
She could hear yells from behind her and she closed her eyes. They couldn't stop her now. They had left her alone in the dark for so long. They hadn't provided help when she needed. She had to leave. She couldn't stand it anymore. She just had to leave.
She opened her eyes for a moment and stared at the card in her hands.
Dear Hermione,
Happy Valentines day. I hope your life is filled with joy and love and that you're never alone.
With love, Harry.
This is what had pushed her over. She dropped the card. It fluttered to the ground slowly but the wind picked it up and blew it away. She smiled sadly down at it as it flew away and out of sight.
Harry burst through the astronomy door and immediately saw Hermione fall. She seemed almost as if to slip. Harry ran to the edge, Ron right behind him. Harry tried to mutter a spell as he watched the girl fall.
She could feel the air flowing around her as she fell. Hermione was flying. She was smiling, a true smile. She could finally be free. Then, everything went black for her.
Harry could tell that she had passed out and only a moment after a sickening sound was heard and harry fell to his knees. Why did this have to happen? What was she thinking?
Harry started to cry. Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the boy who had stood up to Voldamort, cried. Ron was crying beside him, hugging his knees to his chest.
Both stayed like that for quite some time until both ended up going to bed, only to cry themselves to sleep.
Harry gripped the blade in his hand and looked at the engraving that rested just below the hilt. Gordic Gryfinder. He smiled sadly at it as thoughts of the previous day rushed through his mind.
~*~Flash Back~*~
Hermione hugged him gently and kissed him on the cheek and she did the same with Ron. "Farewell..." She said with a smile. She always talked this way so it didn't bother them very much at that moment.
Harry spotted a letter in an envelope and bent down to pick it up. On the envelope it said, "To Harry and Ron, my dearest friends."
Dear Harry and Ron,
I'm very sorry, I really am. I can't stand it anymore though. I love you both and I will forever. Live your lives to the fullest. Farewell.
Love, Hermione.
Harry and Ron immediately started running after her, Harry dropping her letter.
~*~End of Flash Back~*~
Harry raised the blade to his heart and took in a sharp breath. "I'll be with you soon Hermione..." He whispered before the blade penetrated his skin and went through his heart. The last words from his lips were words of love for the one and only love that he had lost. He would indeed, soon be with that love.
