~Sarah
Through Life and Death and ResurrectionJesus was fully God and fully man,
Coming down to earth from heaven up high.
To fulfill and complete God's Perfect Plan,
The Son had to live, teach, and die.
They brought false charges against Him in trial
And He was condemned for being the Son.
He was betrayed and felt His friends' denial,
And stood as soldiers mocked Him and made fun.
They jeered, sneered; He felt humiliation.
They nailed Him to the cross; He felt the pain.
But to pay for the gift of salvation,
He knew the Lamb of God had to be slain.
He bore the sins of the world on His back.
They watched as, to God, in sorrow, He cried,
And over all the land, the skies turned black,
As He gave all to the Father and died.
The soldiers pierced His body with a spear,
And some saw that what they had done was wrong,
As flowing blood and water did appear.
He was laid in a tomb, but not for long.
Three days later, from the dead, He arose,
Still bearing the scars on His hands and feet.
Jesus showed Himself to many of those
Who had known Him, and others, He did greet.
To all people on earth, He shared His love,
He was truly the Son and showed the Way.
He joined the Father in heaven above,
But Christ will surely come again some day.
