Summary: "Lest it be, lest it come to pass..." behold the story of he who causes the heavens to tremble not with fear but with fury. Introduction to the Dragonball: Before Goku universe.
Feet marched over battered concrete, leaving nothing more than dust in their wake. Soon even this left the surface of the shattered place, providing no memorial to the person who walked there.
Boots of rough leather covered the plodding feet. In turn, these were covered by a pair of orange slacks that led up to a gi of the same color. From the gi sprouted a pair of long strong arms that swung confidently back and forth to the echoing time of the footsteps. A head perched atop the shoulders, the jaw set and a pair of green eyes shimmering in such an unearthly way upon the face. Bangs of blonde hair dipped over a white headband, joining the rest of the hairdo that jutted in rugged spikes toward the sky.
This one caused the ground to break, the buildings to fall. This one caused the very heavens to shake with the fury he felt in his heart. Alone, this single person attained power that few could even fathom- an aura of purest gold crackling around a man whose heart was blackened by rage. He made the dust rise and fall again, made the rubble settle around him. He felt nothing: no joy, no pain, and certainly no fear. Only hatred.
His hands stretched upwards toward the gray sky, as if embracing something unseen to the rest of the deadened world. The mouth opened and uttered the words passed down through the generations from father to son, a grim poem that no one wished to know nor ever truly say.
"Lest it be, lest it come to pass, when my rage takes hold...
"With these words my enemies fall..
"With these words I give up my soul
"My soul, for something higher, something so old-
"It has no name, no face, no place here.
"Until now.
"Hatred, anger, power beyond knowing.
"Behold.
"For I am the Destroyer of Worlds."
He was no longer San Takezo. He was no longer a Saiyan. Something stronger took hold of him, something far greater than anything ever known to the countless worlds twirling through the black void of space. No.
He was a Super Saiyan.
"Behold."
"For I am the Destroyer of Worlds."
