Tried to amend my alcoholic habits
Made it nearly seventy days
Losin' my mind without speed, eatin' lots of my mushrooms
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays
But at night I'd had these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous alcoholic drink
Not a simple half, wine or a crystal clear water so sweet
But a big foaming mug and a huge hunk of meat
Pint of beer in paradise (paradise)
Heaven on earth within a dirty mug (paradise)
Not too particular not too precise (paradise)
I't just a pint of beer in paradise
Heard about the old time sailor men
They drink the same thing again and again
Warm beer and bread they said could raise the dead
Well it reminds me of the menu at a Prancing Pony Inn
Times have changed for sailors these days
When I'm in port I get what I need
Not just regular beer or wine
But that honking huge mug that tastes so fine
