Night had fallen over the forest that our heroes currently resided in.
Peace struck over the vast evergreens, and crickets were meant to be heard,
singing their beautiful songs of nature. The crackling of the fire the
group surrounded themselves with could be heard from afar. Everything
seemed to be at rest.
Smack.
"My intentions were good. I was merely reaching to get something behind
your back, Sango." lied a slapped Miroku. "Yeah, sure." She replied
angrilly.
"Inu Yasha! How could you!? I had to study that book!" screamed a furious
Kagome. "It seemed like a good idea at the time." Inu Yasha fought back,
pointing to the text book on the ground, ripped into shreds.
"How could something like that ever be considered a good idea?!" the young
reincarrnation retorted.
Yes, it was merely an ordinary evening, dawning upon it's regular hours.
Minutes later, silence overcame once more. The four sat in their own direction around the fading fire. Kagome, Shippou, and Kirara were fast asleep, huddled around each other. Both Inu Yasha and Miroku seemed to take watch as Sango simpley stared into the ember's last few sparks.
Curiosly, Miroku noticed Sango's stare, and decided to sit on the opposite side of her, on the other side of the flames. "Sango?" he questioned with a whisper, hoping to not awaken the Kagome.
Still feeling angry about the earlier grope, Sango merely let out a 'hmph'. Miroku sighed.
"I'm sorry, Lady Sango. I just can't help myself at times." He replied sorrowly, with a hidden smirk upon his face.
She glared, turning red from embarresment.
Miroku, easing with a smidge of guilt, walked over and sat next to the young huntress. "Maybe if I promised to not grope you all day tomorrow, will you be mad at me, still?"
Sango smirked with amusement. "A whole day? Yeah right." She replied, still a little red.
Miroku, feeling awkward, put out his hand. Sango quickly flinched, and Miroku caught the sudden action with curious interest.
Sango shook his hand, with a smile creeping along her face. Miroku's hand starting to slip further down her arm.
Wham.
A nearby pot came crashing down on the monk's head, leaving a rather large bump.
Sango stood up and stormed away. "I said starting tomorrow. Morning hasn't risen yet!" Miroku called, a sly smirk across his face.
Author's Note: Yes, I know, I know. It wasn't long enough for a first chapter. Well, I didn't want to continue on from this point, for cliffhangering reasons. Don't hate me for it. Please review! I need to know if I got Miroku and Sango's personalities all straightened out. Good, bad, it doesn't matter. No reviews, no chapters.
Also, I'm already beginning the next chapter, so don't expect a long wait.
