Zack's Bad Hair Day
Chapter1
Zack could not believe that he had just left home because of his childhood dream to join Soldier and become First Class, even if it meant never seeing his parents again. He had left them a note on the table downstairs too ashamed of telling them he was leaving home to join Soldier. Shinra had done a lot to his village with their reactor. Many people had died mysteriously and there were many problems with the reactor, which the people of Gongaga were blamed for, by Shinra. Earlier in the morning he had thought of going back home but he knew if he did he would be called a wimp by his friends. As he got up he looked back in the direction he had come from. He said "Goodbye home", then he walked away travelling in the opposite direction towards Gold Saucer.
As he got close to a river he saw someone at the side of the road. It was a young girl around his age, she was crying. He walked over to her and asked her if she was okay. She replied no cause she was lost. She was on her way to North Corel but she wasn't sure where it was, she had only been there once when she was little. Zack said"Do you want me to take you to North Corel, I'm going that way". "Yes, please, if you don't mind" she said wiping away her tears. "No, I don't mind. Come on, let's go". They walked to the edge of the river and got on a ferryman's boat "50gil please" he said "yeah sure" said Zack. When they were in the boat, Zack said "Come to think of it I don't even know your name." "Aeris" she replied. "That's a nice name" Zack said. Zack thought he had heard of that name somewhere before but he couldn't place where. They got to the other side and they got off. The ferryman said "have a nice day" as he started rowing to the other side. They carried on walking, talking to each other about their families and where they lived. Suddenly the girl stopped and stared "have you never seen gold saucer before" said Zack "yes, but I was really little then so I don't remember it being this big and as bright as that. It looks a beautiful place maybe I can get my father to take me when we get to North Corel." Yeah maybe "said Zack. "Let's keep walking I'm getting hungry I can get some food when we get to North Corel". Soon they came across some mountains "Not far now just past those mountains" said Zack. After Zack said it Aeris looked up and stared and said "Is that smoke coming out of the middle of those mountains". "Yeah it is that's where we are heading the smoke is probably coming from North Corel probably from the chimneys or the reactor". "Let's hurry" said Aeris "I want to speak to my father". So they started to run when they got round the corner they stopped in horror.
