Denethor's Song

I woke up in the morning

To this pain and this burning

Of the loss of my pride

I am alone, no one's by my side

I watched the sun go down

Upon my city, upon my town

Nothing is left in this life

Except war hate and strife

This is why we must learn

That in the end everything must burn

My country and my city

Neither will have my pity

My sons have gone into the west

I will not be content with their rest

Should a man experience such pain?

Did my children die in vain?

No sounds of laughter to fill the hall

My heart was gone with their fall
All that is left is a barren land

That is why we must strike out with all we can

This is why we must learn

That in the end everything must burn

My country and my city

Neither will have my pity

We must burn Minas Tirith to the ground

No room for Mordor anywhere around

We will start first with my son

Oh, yes I will have some fun

He will burn into the night

And we will burn without a fight

The land of Gondor will be gold

No land of Gondor for Mordor to hold

Those ignorant fools, what a surprise

When they come to their senses and open their eyes

The land of Gondor will be gone

In a raging fire, before the dew-filled dawn

This the end there is no more

Destroy the city, no victory for Mordor!
