I wrote this story at about two in the morning, cos I couldn't sleep (I'd drunk loads of Coke and seen Chicago before that, so I had the tunes from the movie constantly playing in my head) Hope you like it!

DESTINY
It was going to happen one day, ruining her perfect dream, along with her hope and her life. This was the reason why she had been warned against it, against being with the man she loved, by almost everyone she knew. Galadriel, Glorfindel, her twin brothers, her father...everybody, except for one, the man who now lay dead beneath her weeping figure. Aragorn. The only man she had ever loved, and ever would love.
She had found him earlier that night, barely alive, struggling to breathe. He had told her that he had been attacked nearby and had come to find her.
"I needed to see you again, needed to tell you how much I love you before..."
"No, don't say that" whispered Arwen, her tears staining Aragorn's clothes a deeper shade. "It is not yet your time Aragorn, you will not die" She leaned foward and kissed him softly. He suddenly grabbed her hand tight, and his breathing became shallow. "Aragorn" she said, panicked. But not even the light of the Evenstar could keep him alive.
A dark silence fell on the forest as Aragorn became motionless, Arwen sitting quietly beside him, wishing she could bring him back as time passed by slowly, and twilight skies became black and starry. She had begun fingering his necklace without realising it, the gift she gave him all those years ago before he left with the Fellowship from her home.
She cried out suddenly, hand to her chest as a terrible pain filled her heart, spreading through her whole body as if carried in her veins. She was dying, of grief for Aragorn's passing. Every breath she took caused an unbearable hurt inside, every movement felt like torture, every moment she lived was agony.
She let out a final sob as the pain overcame her, collapsing on the ground next to her true love, eyes fluttering shut never to open again. And there they remained, their love and their lives frozen forever, standing still in the silent forest of Rivendell.
~The End~
