Serena gasped as she woke up again from another nightmare. They were happening more frequently now and she barely got any rest at night. She slowly made her way to the bathroom clicking on the light to reveal sky blue wallpaper and a dark blue shower curtain. She rubbed her eyes groggily as she look in the mirror.
"Looking wonderful as usual Sere." She said as she looked at the face in the mirror that had bags under its eyes and pallor skin.
Serena got ready early that day to go to work at the clinic. She worked at the Local Medical Clinic. Serena didn't really want to work there but it was better than most of the other jobs that she had gotten accepted to.
When Serena arrived at the clinic she greeted her friend of five years Mina. "Hey Mina!! How's the day goin' so far?" Serena asked as she walked to the front desk counter and slid her way over it (to the horror of many of the people in the waiting room).
"Not to bad for SIX THIRTY in the morning. I mean seriously! Who chooses these hours. They must have no social life or love life for that matter, maybe they need help." Mina exclaimed with a mischievous grin on her face. Serena groaned. She had come to dread that grin. The grin that said disaster was coming and it ain't pretty.
Serena swung the chair she'd been sitting in to face Mina directly. "So," She said innocently, "How's your relationship with Kunzite going? I know you had a date last night." Serena smiled when she saw the look of pure joy cross Mina's face. "Well, he was the perfect gentlemen but he needs to loosen up a bit. And HE WANTS TO SEE ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!" Mina hysterically whispered as not to inform everyone in the clinic. You could tell by her look that she was on cloud 9. Kunzite and Mina had been going out for about a year and four months. And unfortunately in that time Mina and her boyfriend had gone nothing beyond kissing.
Serena smiled and laughed outright at the face Mina had. It was one of pure contentment and to be honest in the middle of a clinic with a white doctor jacket on she looked like a complete idiot. Serena just then shook her head knowing that her good friend Mina was hopelessly in love and that the feeling was mutual.
"Hey,' Serena remarked, "Is the gang meeting anywhere this weekend?
"Actually," Mina said hesitantly, "Kunzite sort of..kind.of...wanted me to.....um...see if you guys could meet his friends. I mean it's only fair! He's met you guys and he is absolutely dying for you guys to meet his friends." Mina said looking at Serena with hope filled eyes.
"Oh fine." Serena said as she folded her arms across her chest. She couldn't resist that hopeful face.
"YYEEAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Mina screamed as she launched herself at Serena. Serena just rolled her eyes as her oxygen supply slowly went to non- existent.
" AIR!" She gasped as she tried to regain her normal breathing
"Oh..hehe..sorry." Mina said sheepishly as she started back on her paperwork for the week. Serena turned her chair and started to type up stats on the computer as she thought to herself, "What have I gotten the gang into." But then smiled when she remembered Minas' happy face.
