Disclaimer: I own Newsies and I'm ROLLIN' IN DOUGH!!! YEE-HAAA!!! Oh wait—I don't know Newsies. And it did not make a whole lot of money. Dammit. All the Newsies characters that you recognize Disney owns. All the other strange demented people belong to me.
Snitch jolted awake, startled by the twitching boy sharing his bed. He looked out the window to see dawn filling the sky with subtle reds, oranges, and pinks. The darkness was fading as the bright sun, which would soon be lighting the lodging house through grimy windows, made its ascent into the sky. Snitch realized that shortly Kloppman's booming voice would shatter the calm silence as he stirred the reluctant boys. Feeling another twitch he looked over to the figure beside him. The sleeping boy's long brown hair was tousled due to his constant movement in his sleep. It was times like these Snitch almost missed his bed with Jake. Almost. Being with Skittery filled him with so much happiness that Snitch couldn't imagine how he spent so many years without the other boy's touch, his love, him. Snitch rolled back over trying to squeeze in a few more moments of rest before he had to face the day. Habitually his thumb would have gone to his mouth as he engaged slumber. But he no longer had a need for insecure habits; his thumb was currently occupied as his arms held Skittery tight.
Miles away another figure was admiring the birth of the beautiful day. The sun peaked out over the horizon and as she watched from the stern it seemed as though the city has froze and time stood still. Her trance was broken by the low, dismal sound of the ship's horn announcing its arrival to the city.
All seemed calm and still like the eye of a hurricane, but an eerie cloud mass was creeping into the sky. A ship's echoed through the city, they did not know it but trouble has just come in. Fate had an evil plan and no one would escape.
