Ginny yawned as she stretched. The morning sunlight was shining in her window; outside she could hear the birds twittering amongst themselves. Ginny jumped out of bed and hurriedly got dressed, she was excited because today was her eleventh birthday. Today was the day that she would be receiving her Hogwarts Acceptance letter! Ginny ran down the steps and into the kitchen. "Morning Mum," Ginny said in her regular peppy tone, "has my letter come yet?" "No Ginny, you know it won't come until after 11:45, so stop asking me!" "Oh, alright!" Just then Ron walked in, "Oh is Ginny fussing about her letter again?" he teased, "Of course not!" Ginny jumped in. "I'll bet." Ron started again; But Mrs. Weasley started talking at just the right time. "Now Ginny, I want you and Ron to go upstairs and write to Harry, I'm afraid the muggles have kept him locked up again." "Of course mum." Ginny and Ron replied dully. They raced up the stairs, and ran into Percy along the way. "Will you watch where you're going?!" Percy asked angrily.

"Sorry Percy, we're just going up to write to Harry." Ron replied "Oh." So Ron and Ginny continued up to Ron's room. Once they got up to Ron's room, Ron grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill. "Here Ginny, you write it." Ron said, thrusting the quill into Ginny's hand. "Oh, fine." Ginny snapped. They scribbled out a quick letter and then gave it to Errol to take to Harry.

Harry sighed as he did his Transfiguration homework. "Why do I always have to do this in secret?" he thought to himself. Just then an owl showed up at his window. Harry recognized it to be Errol and hurriedly let him in. Errol dropped a thick piece of parchment on his lap. Harry quickly opened the letter and read it. Dear Harry, Mum wanted us to write to you to find out if you are ok. I hope so! My birthday is today and I'm very excited. I'm going to be receiving my Hogwarts letter today! Well I'll see you hopefully a little later this summer. With Love, Ginny

Harry-

Just wanted to verify that mum and dad are getting you on the twenty third of August. I'll see you soon. Let Errol rest before sending him back, he's almost as worthless as Scabbers. -Ron P.S. don't forget your broomstick! (And Ginny asked me to remind you to bring her a present. she's crazy!)

Harry smiled as he read the letters. "Of course I'll bring Ginny a gift!" he thought out loud. Then he frowned, "I wonder if Hermione is coming?" Harry decided to write to her and ask. Dear Hermione, he started, then he scribbled it out and wrote in its place,

Hermione-

I was just wondering if you're going to be at Ron's later in August, if you are write as soon as you can. -Harry Harry gave that letter to Hedwig and she set off. Next was Ron's letter.
Ron-

Sure, The twenty- third is perfect. I'll be ready. Tell Ginny that I'll bring her a gift. -Harry

He gave that to Errol and sent him on his way. "Today is the twentieth, so that means I have three days to pack," Harry pondered out loud. "I had better get a start on it right now."
