Chapter 1 A Dangerous Town
Miaka woke up to the jostling of the plane as it descended towards the runway. 'My new home,' Miaka thought to herself as she watched the city appear beneath her.
Miaka stepped out of the airport carrying nothing more than her black backpack. She made her way through the crowds of people unsure of where she was going, then again she had nowhere to go.
She wandered around the city all afternoon taking in her surroundings. Looking up she noticed the sky began to darken, the sun already set. Miaka silently cursed herself for not finding a hotel sooner. She walked on, her feet beginning to grow tired, and her stomach growling in protest.
Miaka shivered in the cold air as the night grew darker, when the streetlights turned on. Suddenly becoming aware of the empty streets, and the sound of someone fallowing her. She increased her pace as did the person behind her. Scared Miaka took of in a blind run, as she heard another join in her pursuit. Miaka kept running as best she could, fighting off fatigue, as the figures behind her continued to fallow.
Unfortunately for Miaka she ran herself into a dead end. Turning around she looked towards the two people behind her. They snickered as the crept upon her, the light catching the edge of a blade on pulled out. "Shit," Miaka muttered. If she weren't so tired she might be able to fight them off long enough to escape. Slowly she stepped back down the alleyway towards the dead end.
"Hey," a voice called out from behind her followers.
"You should no better than to be on Suzaku's turf," another called out. Her would be attackers froze at the sound of the voices before fleeing.
Miaka looked towards her saviors, a group of people standing in the shadows of the building. "Arigato," she whispered before being consumed by blackness.
