Katrina saw her mother sitting there looking beautiful as always, keeping her long blond hair away from her coffee. The kitchen got dark. "Rina, darling, its time." Ray said. Rina studied her.
"For what?" Her mother disappeared, leaving only her heavy gold ring behind. Rina approached it, and tried to pick it up, wondering where her mother went. The ring was hot, and it burnt her fingers.
Rina woke up, and threw the covers off. She was hot all over. She felt her damp forehead, and wiped her hands on her pajama pants. Swallowing hard, she looked at the heavy ring that once belonged to her mother, sitting on her bedside table. Rina tried to pick it up, but it burnt her fingers.
