From the eyes of Midori

I made a new friend! Josh Maputo. I get a feeling from him though… But he's my friend, like me, he has no other friends. But why me? He could have anyone better than me, I could see Tory Palmer seducing him, he was lucky, and Tory was the most popular girl in school! Though, I got jealous at the sight and sick to my stomach, but he always shook her off which gave me a sign of hope.

Josh was meeting me at the mall at the theatre. He was there before me, smiling, as usual. We were going to watch the movie, "Sweet Home Alabama" It was his idea. It was actually good for a love movie!

After, we went to the food court; Tory and her gang were there. She rushed to Josh.

"Oh Josh! I thought I'd never find you!" She swept a look at me as I shamefully looked to the ground. "Why are you here with her?" she scorned.

Josh smiled, "I'm hangin' with Midori, no crime going to the mall with a friend." Then he looked at me and smiled.

I loved his smile; it would make me feel safe.

Tory smiled, "Oh I know, now you can do it now."

Josh looked confused, "Do what?"

Tory switched to her impatient look, "Dump her of course!"

Josh just smiled; this gave me an uneasy feeling. Then he began to talk, "Now why would I want to do that to her?"

Tory was now steamed, I giggled making sure no one heard me. "Because she's ugly! A disgrace to girls!"

I was shocked at this remark, "Ugly you say? Nope, I don't see that. Disgrace? Well I don't think so." Josh said. He was just wonderful!

Tory began to pull on his sleeve, I was worried he would give in, I was fighting back tears. But he just shook her off and walked away, I knew it was my turn to follow.

I began to talk as I looked at the floor blushing, "Why did you…"

He suddenly blushed, "Because all that was a lie. I don't take lies."

I looked at him then looked back at the floor.
