Open Canvas

He picked up the brush again; this time he used the semi medium thickness brush to create facet lines crisscrossing on the white surface. He smiled indulgency, while his hand was dancing upon the canvas like a maestro conducting a gala. He was the master of this art after all, creating beautiful paintings, many beautiful things. Painting was like a meditation, hearing the brush stroke gently inside this quiet studio. He loved the crisscross, the lines, the curves, the circles, and the abstract of the cubism art. He knew this painting was going to be wonderful.

This was a good canvas. He loved this canvas, he cherished this canvas. It cost so much too since it made from fine material. He sacrificed everything for this canvas. Now he would make it beautiful.

The red was brilliant against the matted surface, crimson against the light. Oil paint could create that effect of shining glossy finish, but nay, the blood was more useful to create the three dimensional thickness. Maybe he should added gesso (for the next project?). The charcoal was grinded, perfect for sfumato effect. The dust smeared his hands, between the fingertips and his palm, and on the canvas, on the red and gray and long golden strains. Joints were forced into figura serpentinata in a dynamic configuration.

He sighed as he leaned against the chair, admiring his work of art. Forest green eyes gleamed filled with love. He was in love. Oh yes. But remember kids; never try this at home because the canvas could decay easily. Flesh, bone, blood and silver eyes. Beautiful, yes?

He closed the door of the studio behind him and walked away.
