Jinxes

"We all know the legendary story. You know the one about the boy who lived, but that is only the middle of the unfortunate tale of the Jinxes. It started as a school group but grew into something more. This is a tale of courage, friendship, lies, and love. Of course, like most things in the time of the dark lord, there wasn't a happy ending like everyone so wrongly predicted. I for one know this. I was a Jinx, a long time ago, when my worst fear was detention, now it's all gone, forever." At this the young woman burst into sobs at the unnerving memories that came to her."

As I stepped onto the Hogwarts Express for the first time ever an odd sensation filled me, one of great joy and enough nervousness for me to become a squib, just so I wouldn't have to face this. I searched for an empty compartment but none were empty. I at last came to a compartment where only one girl sat, her nose buried in a book.

"Umm… Can I sit here?" I asked nervously.

"wha- oh, sure," she said looking up from her book, "I'm Lily Evans. Who are you?"

"Arabella Figg." I said, "What book is tha- ouch! What the hell?" I said right after someone crashed into me.

"Hide!" the young man who bumped into me was telling two other boys who had followed him.

They quickly hid under the seats, ignoring us. I, of course, found this rude and thought it only appropriate to voice my opinion.

"Um, don't have something to say to us?" I asked not bothering to hide the annoyance in my tone.

"Uh… no." one of the other boys said.

This was enough to let my temper out. You see, I get pissed off easily, a smart allelic mouth, and don't know when to shut up. That is not a good combination.

"I don't believe I was talking to you," I said in the icy tone I would be soon famous for, I turned my attention towards the boy who knocked me down. He had sandy blonde hair and ocean blue eyes.

"Hmmm… Let me think… maybe I should tell you to mind your own business and leave us alone." He said. Apparently, not thinking he owed us an apology. He motioned for his followers to follow him out of the compartment, but I was too quick. I blocked the doorway with a simple spell.

"Apologize," I ordered, now fully ticked off.

"No, I don't think I will," he snarled.

"Then I guess you won't be leaving," I said coldly.

"Who do you think you are? Albus Dumbledore?" he asked, shocked that a girl was ordering him around.

"No, as a matter of fact, I believe I'm Arabella Figg. Care introducing yourselves?" I glared.

"Remus Lupin." The sandy haired boy said.

"James Potter," said another.

"Sirius Black," the last boy said.

"I'm Lily Evans," Lily finally spoke up.

Just then a girl poked her head through our compartment, "Can I join you guys?" she asked.

"Sure," Lily smiled.

So she walked in and introduced her self as Lexi Fisherman.

"So that's how we all met. Also that's how Remus and I came to hate eachother. Things at Hogwarts were great up until 7th year. Lexi, Lily, and I were a team up against the marauders. We endured their prankfests and pulled a couple ourselves. Remus and I were the only real enemies. Lily and James, well, they could've cared less about one another. Lexi and Sirius, however, became good friends, so that meant we had to put up with each other. Of course the actual story falls in 7th year…"
