My daughter cuffed my son sharply about the head for making some remark of another. Those eyes, so remincesent of her great-grandmother's stared soulfully from an elven face that was still maturing. My son on the other hand, tall and a bit bigger boned than a normal elf, with his absurd short hair. If only I could get him to grow it out. Maybe he wouldn't be ostracized so much from the Elven community. I love both my children dearly, but he is my heir. I will always be more protective of his sister, as she is female. I know she is the one who does the protecting in their relationship. They resemble me, mostly. But their mother; Arwen, is in the mix as well as Elrond, Galadriel, Celeborn, and even their Uncle Haldir. All of those whom they love so dearly. They are leaving now. Going to the shire to watch over the Halfling, Frodo. Gandalf willed it so. I will not see them until the Council of Elrond. I know they will miss me. I can only hope they find temporary happiness among the Halflings.
