[Near a stage in the park after their wedding.]

Amber: Wow, those kids was weird.

Mr. Dig: Yes, well....kids will be kids.

Amber: [Files her fingernails.] Uh huh.

[Enter Lizzie, Miranda, Gordo, and Ethan.]

Mr. Dig: [Grins.] Glad you could make it!

Ethan: We totally wanted to be here, man! So, uh....do I get an A?

Mr. Dig: Let me think.....[Pretends to ponder.] No.

Miranda: [To Ethan.] At least you tried.

Mr. Dig: I heard there's a play to be put on! What are my choices?

Gordo: Here you go. [Hands him a paper.]

Mr. Dig: [Reads.] The battle with the Centaurs, to be sung by an Athenian eunuch to the harp.[Looks weirded out. Continues to read.] A tedious brief scene of Pyramus and his young love Thisbe; very tragical mirth. Sounds uh....interesting. I guess I choose that.

Gordo: That's good, because you didn't really have a choice in the first place. [Yells over to Mr. McGuire.] Bring in the actors!

Kate: [From offstage.] And ACTRESSES!

Gordo: And actresses!

Amber: [Groans.] Do we have to watch this?

Mr. Dig: [Whispers.] If it gets really boring, we'll just laugh at them.

Gordo: [Jumps up onstage.] Ladies and gentleman....the prologue. [Runs off.]

Kate [as Prologue. Rolls her eyes.] I'm the Prologue and I'm not sure why I'm here. Mr. Escobar left me in charge and then he put me totally in charge and I was so confused but people picked parts and Larry wanted everything and I was about to cry because he was gone and...and...

Mr. Dig: [Whispers to Gordo.] That made no sense.

Gordo: [Whispers back.] It'll get better....I hope.

[Enter Larry, Claire, Veruca, Martha, and Brooke.]

Kate: [as Prologue. Points to Larry.] This is Pyramus. [Points to Claire.] This is Thisbe. [Points to Veruca.] She's the wall. [Points to Martha.] She's the moonshine. [Points to Brooke.] And she's the lion.

[Kate, Larry, Claire, Martha, and Brooke exit.]

Veruca: [as Wall.] I, Veruca Washington, present a wall to you. And it has a chink through which the lovers whisper and um....um....that's it, yeah.

Gordo: The wall speaks!

[Everyone in the audience laughs.]

[Re-enter Larry.]

Larry: [as Pyramus.] O grim-look'd night! O night with hue so black! O night, which ever art when day is not! O night, O night! Alack, alack! O wall! O sweet wall! Show me your chink to blink through with my eye. [Veruca holds up her fingers as a chink.] Thanks, wall. But what see I? No Thisbe? O wicked wall! Curs'd by thy stones!

Mr. Dig: Perhaps the wall should curse again.

Larry: [To Mr. Dig; as himself.] No, in truth, sir, he should not. Curs'd by thy stones' is Thisbe's cue. And I spy on her through the chink. Here she comes.

[Re-enter Claire.]

Claire: [as Thisbe.] O wall! Where art my lover Pyramus?

Larry: [as Pyramus.] I see a voice! I shall go to the wall to spy on Thisbe.

Claire: [as Thisbe.] My love! Thou art my love....I think.

Larry: [as Pyramus.] O, kiss me through this chink!

Claire: Ew! Ew, no way! No one said anything about kissing.

[Claire runs offstage.]

Larry: Wait, Claire! It's part of the play!

[Larry follows after her.]

Veruca: [as Wall.] Thus have I, wall, being done, shall go.

[Veruca exits.]

Amber: [Filing her naiils.] This play is kinda silly.

Mr. Dig: I realized that a while ago. Let's humor them.

[Re-enter Brooke and Martha.]

Brooke: [as Lion.] Hey y'all! I just wanted to let everybody know that I ain't really a lion, I'm only Brooke Baker, so you don't have to worry, mmkay?

Mr. Dig: A gentle beast...and a good conscience.

Martha: [as Moonshine.] This lantern of the horned moon I present---

Ethan: Hey! You don't have horns!

Martha: [as Moonshine.] I repeat, this lantern of the horned moon I present, is I.

Lizzie: That makes no sense.

Miranda: No, you think?

[Re-enter Claire.]

Claire: [as Thisbe.] This is old Ninny's tomb!

Brooke: [as Lion.] Roar!

Claire: [as Thisbe.] Oh!

Gordo: Well roared, Lion.

Mr. Dig: Well run, Thisbe.

Lizzie: Well shone, Moon.

Brooke: [as Lion, tears Thisbe's mantle, then runs off.]

[Claire runs off, frightened.]

[Re-enter Larry.]

Larry: [as Pyramus.] Sweet moon, I thank you for your sunny beams. I thank you, moon, for shining now so bright. But stay, o spite! But mark, poor knight! What dreadful dole is here! Eyes, do you see? How can it be? O dainty duck, O dear! Thy mantle good, what, stain'd with blood?

Miranda: [Whispers to Lizzie.] I almost feel bad for him.

Larry: [as Pyramus.] If Thisbe does not live, I wish to no longer wish...I shall die. Thus I die, thus, thus, thus. [Stabs himself.] Now I am dead, Now I am fled. My soul is in the sky. Moon, take thy flight! [Martha runs off.] Now die, die, die, die, die. [Dies.]

Gordo: Uh, why does the Moonshine leave before Thisbe finds Pyramus?

Mr. Dig: She'll find him by starlight. [Laughs.]

[Re-enter Claire.]

Claire: [as Thisbe.] Asleep, my love? What, dead, my dove? O Pyramus, arise! Speak, speak! Quite dumb? Dead, dead! A tomb! These lily lips, this cherry nose, those yellow cowslip cheeks...are gone, are gone. His eyes were as green as leeks. Come, trusty sword. And farewell, friends. [Stabs herself.] Thus Thisbe ends. Adieu, adieu, adieu. [Dies.]

Mr. Dig: Moonshine and Lion are left to bury the dead.

Gordo: Don't forget Wall.

Larry: [Gets up and speaks to Gordo.] Actually, the wall has been knocked down. Would you like to see the epilogue, Mr. Dig?

Mr. Dig: Uh, no, that's quite alright. Amber and I will head off to bed now.

Amber: [Giggles.]

[Mr. Dig and Amber run off, hand in hand.]

Lizzie: Am I the only one disturbed by that woman?

[Miranda and Gordo shrug. Ethan chases after a raccoon.]

~~~~~~
[Somewhere nearby...]
Lanny: [Yawns silently.]
[Enter Matt and Melina.]
Matt: I'm happy....let's dance!
Melina: [Looks at him funny.] Matt, are you feeling alright?
Matt: [Grabs Melina's hand.] Let's dance!
Lanny: [Gets out his portable keyboard and starts to play.]
Matt: I dedicate this dance to Lizzie, Miranda, Gordo, and Ethan!
Melina: And they are...?
Matt: Erm. Nevermind. [Runs off.]
Melina: Excuse me?! [Chases after him.]
Lanny: [Shrugs, and follows after them.]
