AN: The first of hopefully many side stories. This time it's the missing prologue, other times it could be parts of the journey I time-skipped over. And perhaps others it can show other characters changed by Dante's actions.

The OLD version of the prologue was…well…yeah. The purpose of this Prologue was supposed to be to give a 'reason' for why the story is even happening in the first place. Your welcome to skip it if you don't like this kind of stuff. Some may find it stupid or silly but I had fun with it.

Side Story: Prologue: My Overruled and Skipped Prologue Because My Beta is a Dick

Our story begins on the continent of Ishgar, specifically in the western most edge of the continent in the kingdom of Fiore, deep in the woods of an unknown forest, a young teen lay sleeping upon the grass.

The boy looked to be around twelve years of age with a healthy physique. Shoulder-length light green hair fell from his head, framing a delicate face of pale skin. If one were to see past his sleeping eyelids, azure colored eyes would stand out prominently.

If anyone had been passing by, they would simply see a healthy young teen merely taking a nap. But it wasn't so simple, for the boy was anything but simple.

The boy was named Dante, and he was what one would call an Isekai'd individual in Japanese anime circles. Dante had been a twenty-eight-year-old retired US Recon Marine at the end of his mental barrel.

After a five-year contract starting from the age of eighteen, he took two years to travel the world with nothing but a bag on his back, seeing wonders and exploring to his hearts content before returning home to begin working on his future and getting a full time job.

After three years of that, Dante was tired. The military life was exciting, but he felt it was time to move on after his contract. Traveling likewise was an experience he will never forget, but he also felt it was time to move on after two years of it. Working full time behind a desk, however, wasn't his cup of tea. He was stuck in a position he didn't want and couldn't find other work with a higher salary to pay off the debt he accumulated from his life.

It was interesting in the beginning for sure, but eventually, it began to suck the life out of him, and he began wishing for something 'more' to fill his life. He began looking for things to do, activities, games, friends, sex, he even found a small talent for cooking, but strangely, he could only really shine with liquid based foods and drinks for whatever reason.

When nothing worked for him, he went back to some old hobbies from his teen years and began re-watching old anime and reading fanfiction. The nostalgia was heartwarming and it was relaxing for him to get back from a long day at work, crash on his couch, and watch anime while imagining life in those worlds till late at night. It distracted him from the monotony of his daily life and became his outlet.

As the months and years went by, a simple thought become more and more frequent in his mind. 'If only I could end up in one of these fantasy worlds. Maybe then I could really live life to the fullest. To adventure, grow, and have fun beyond the fragility of this reality.'

Little did he know, someone eventually heard him. (AN: #1)

A god by the name of 'Truck-Sama' heard his wish. Truck-Sama was a hard-boiled god who traveled the harsh terrain of the long road of life, seeing countless humans go about their lives. The god was a minor one, just a piece of a much grander entity, and his current power was to hear the desperate wishes of many young men and women across the world and grant those he chooses their heartfelt desires.

He didn't do this on a whim, for his purpose was complex. The dimension known as 'Earth' was a barren one, created specifically to hold a large jumble of souls from various dimensions passing through lives. Every soul on earth was born into the same era, all believing time was linear and in the history set down for them. A simulation so to speak.

The great machine of reincarnation wasn't perfect, and often times a soul popped up without designation, meaning it needed somewhere for the soul to be held for an indefinite amount of time. Earth was one of those places. It's a waiting room of souls, humans going about their lives in a matrix of reality. A reality formed with a rich past to give all souls a chance to connect to their roots as pieces of various realities were added like a buffet line with appetizers.

Cultures, literature, digital fantasies, earth had everything one could dream of in thought form. All these concepts were pieces of dimensions, being used to judge their origins.

In the beginning, after many experiences of sending off souls who saw glimpses of timelines to take advantage of and who brought nothing but misfortune and mayhem to other dimensions, the fragment of Truck-Sama overseeing the current dimension learned to only choose those who were ready to go. Those who made an attempt at life and found the reality wanting. This aspect was hard to tell without a soul truly attempting to live in the first place, and often times a soul needed dozens or hundreds of lifetimes to reach such a point.

A part of the gods duties was to send souls back to where they belonged, usually in the form of great blunt force trauma. Even a god can have a preference after all.

As an apology for their soul having been trapped in the wrong dimension for who knows how long, the deity of trucks gives a soul a blessing on its journey. The blessings are always unique and take on characteristics closest to the souls personality and desires without breaking the rules of the dimension they would go to.

So when the deity senses a soul ready to go, it activates cosmic forces to appear in front of the individual, usually behind some kind of illusion to make pedestrians think it's normal for a truck to appear out of nowhere and uses its full force to smash the recipient and grant them its divine gift.

Physically, the earthen body dies, very gruesomely and gorily, but spiritually, Truck-Sama sends their soul to the world which calls to them strongest with a gift of power that suits them.

So when Truck-Sama heard Dante's sincere wish and sensed his soul had reached maturity, it chose to grant his wish.

And that is why Truck-Sama hit Dante with the full force of a 100 mph truck. It didn't matter if he was on the 14th floor of a building. Truck-Sama was not to be stopped by such mundane excuses like physics.

Dante was physically squashed into paste while his unconscious soul was flung out of Earth and toward the dimension that connected strongly with him. The world in which he only recognized as Fairy Tail, a world he only thought of as fantasy, and a world in which would welcome him as if he was coming home after a long, long, time away.

This is the story of how Dante spends his new life to the fullest, and the changes he makes along the way.

Prologue End.

AN: Still kinda a half-ass job but better than the first version. My Beta told me it was shit webnovel quality. Hit right in the gonads with that one let me tell you.

Anyone think this would work better before chapter 1? Or do I have to buy metal armor to protect my boys from more emotional damage.

(AN: #1: It was me! Dio!)
