Title: Vengeance
Rating: G
Summary: This is a poem from Tjaden's point of view in the novel All Quiet on the Western Front
Disclaimer: I don't own the character or the book, and I'm glad I don't have enough experience to be able to write a war novel.
Nights with no seeming end
The constant dampness,
The putrid smell
Fueling the need
For vengeance
Two sour peas in a pod
Both without renal control
We don't have a solution
Just a problem who thinks there's one.
Vengeance
An Empty road
A moonlit night
The drunken screams were muffled
By the brown burlap bag
Those days are dead
Those times are now gone past
But they were not ill used
But the memories still live
The need runs deeper than blood
Lo, a visit from our problem!
Memories flood the mind once more
Distracting the mind
Replenishing the soul
Vengeance, sweet vengeance
