I'm just testing this chapter out, so review me if you think it's good. And sorry if I mix some things up! And I don't understand that much about technology so I won't explain how they do things that have to do with technology. Alrighty then?

Athena Goddimar looked on silently at her social worker. Though she wasn't exactly staring, her penetrating gaze was enough to make the social worker squirm uncomfortably in her chair.

"Now Athena," the social worker began.

"Thea," Athena said automatically.

"Thea," the social worker corrected herself. "I know you don't want to move to another foster home, but you have to. And this wonderful lady did it out of the kindness of her heart. She's agreed to keep you until- er- other arrangements are made."

Thea scowled. "You mean until she doesn't want me any more."

"Of course not!" the social worker said quickly. Though she silently admitted to herself that what Thea said was true. Thea had been in four foster homes in less than a year! The foster parents had complained of how Thea kept hacking into their computers and making smart comments that none of them could understand. The schools had also complained, one school saying: "Thea is of such a great intelligence, that she seems to hold herself above her fellow classmates, including her teachers," then there had been a list of teachers that she had insulted or contradicted in class.

"Miss Perkins," Thea said calmly, "I know when you're lying. I know why they didn't want me. Please don't insult my intelligence by lying."

Miss Perkins sighed. "All right. So the other foster homes didn't work out, but I have a feeling this one will. Plus they have a son about your age, and about your intelligence."

Thea's interest was piqued. She sat up straighter in her chair. "Really?"

Miss Perkins smiled in satisfaction in getting Thea's attention which was hard to get. "Really. Let's see," she consulted her papers. "His name is Artemis."

"Artemis," Thea tried out the name. She couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of meeting someone of her intelligence! The people in her many schools had all been stupid and shallow. The supposedly "smart ones" seemed dumber than a doorknob to Thea.

"So when am I going to my new 'home'?"

Miss Perkins folded her hands and set it on her desk, leaned forward, and smiled at her. "Tomorrow actually."
