Authors notes: I would absolutely love any critiques! Spelling errors, any parts that seemed confusing, anything! I am going to submit this into a writing contest so anything that you think needs to be changed please tell me! But please if you feel the need to tell me that this was not good please write more than, "This sucked, you stink at writing." Comments like that will not help me further my writing! Thank you so much for reading!

Dearest Kitty,

So much has happened since we helped with the Jacob's house raising last month.

It was wonderful seeing you and your family there too! Young Katie Anne has grown a

whole head taller since I last laid eyes on her. I wish we did not live so far away from

each other. After we left you, we saw "Rondo alla Turce" being played by some of the

local lads. It seemed like that was a lifetime ago. Very late that same night, Paul Revere

came riding into the town in a huff. Henry thought he might be drunk with all the

commotion he was making. That idea was quickly forgotten when we heard him yelling,

"The British are coming!" We both remembered the prayer that Pastor taught us in our

little Puritan church the Sunday before last, and we prayed all the while as we ran down

to get our arms. Our men were ready to die bravely if need be. It is one of those times I

feel proud that Henry is a gunsmith. He has worked so hard for the cause. We knew the

British would try to destroy out munitions, so we moved as much as we could into hiding.

They destroyed all the munitions we had to leave behind, but we resisted fiercely! It

seemed that the redcoats were defenseless against us and we were thankful to God for

that victory!

King George plans to bring us into subjection, but that is not an option in my

opinion. It was wonderful hearing about the "Indians" dumping the Parliaments'

precious tea into the sea! I wish I were there to view and participate in it happening.

Now the Brits are punishing us again with the Intolerable Acts. They are going to make

us pay for every cent of the tea that was destroyed, but I am certain they will not have the

last say. We will not be subject to their tyranny!

Our lives would be much better if we could just rule ourselves using God's laws!

I long to live under a democracy! Is that even possible, Kitty? Do you think it will ever

happen? These taxes are so unfair when our interests are not even represented. I have

been reading some of John Locke's writings. They seemed to be good at first, but he

does not understand that as important as man's thinking is, it is not sufficient for

establishing laws to govern mankind and that only in scripture, are such divine laws

revealed.

I will continue to pray for my new country in hopes that one day, we shall win our

freedom from this tyranny. Henry shall continue to work in his gunsmith shop and I will

assist him, as I am able. God is able to deliver the colonies from King George III and

keep our families safe. All that is left is to believe, please do not give up hope Kitty!

Give George and the children all mine and Henry's love!

Love you dear Friend,

Marie Rogue
